Also I was kind of shocked to see Froch EASILY dealing with Bute's speed (or lack of it)

 

Let's not get carried away here. Bute fought a bad fight, it happens. I think he was surprised at Froch, he started faster, his movement was better and his punches were quicker and he was throwing combinations, not single shots. I dont think they saw this version of Froch coming. They probably expected him to start slow, for which Bute could use his aggressive tactics and get off on him, but Froch didn't allow it.

Froch used all his experience he gained fighting the best in the super six. That was the best thing that has happened in his career, even his loses to Kessler and Ward. He's learnt he cannot wait too long, he cannot throw single shots and he needs to use the jab more and to not lunge in so much. Look at him as a fighter now in comparison to the Froch that slugged it out with Pascal, to getting up off the canvas against Taylor, to being sloppy and slow against Dirrell, to not being busier against Kessler, schooling Abraham and getting a good win over Johnson. Then he came up short against Ward. What he is today is a result of his willingness to fight the best and learning something from every fight.

He's faced a multitude of different styles and his level of opponent has been higher than Bute. Who I don't brand a hype job. Not just yet. He will come again, and he will fair better against guys with a different style to froch. You cannot go toe to toe with the cobra there will only be one winner as Bute found out. Even Ward would not be able to do to Bute what Froch did. He's a different kind of animal and that would be a different fight, which I see Ward winning, but he won't be taking as many risks, which will lead to a dull fight IMO.

Make no mistake, Froch is a better fighter today than he was when he fought the likes of Dirrell and Kessler. His learning curve has been steep as hell and you are seeing him using some ring smarts in there now, couple with his great heart and power, we saw combinations and a will to win. This is a very dangerous version of Carl Froch. Fight him at your peril!

I guess you two are multi millionaires tonight then having backed Froch all the way? He was a pretty big outsider, especially seeing as he was boxing a home.

It was a superb fight to watch and good for boxing all in all I think.

While Froch can never beat any version of Andre Ward, I do think the Cobra can beat Kessler in a rematch, and would of probably beaten Kessler the first time if not for the Volcano

 

I don't typically play the "I told you so" card, but I too told motha****ers Bute wasn't on "that" level. Also super congrats to Froch he ****ed Bute's ass up.
