Pacquiaos knocked the punch resistance out of him, he showed frailty after the mayweather fight which was exposed against lazcano
IMO he loses to all the main fellas in the top 10 IMO, some of those dudes have serious power, just imagine what Mike Alvarado, oritz, campbell, urango,Holt and bradley would do to him even bailey would spark him cold, The only person i'd give him a shot at is the winner of khan-kotelnik, kotelniks pritty static and isnt a noted banger khan doesnt hit hard either and has equally bad punch resistance

  2. I think thats pretty hard on the guy, It deffo looks like he may have lost his chin but there is a major diffrence between the guys you mentioned and Manny

Those guys wouldn't be able to land 70+ shots in 2 rounds

Just heard a Hatton interview on Five Live from his gym opening today.

His speech is even more slurred now, it was getting bad before...all the danger signs are there. Anyone else notice this?

Difference is JMM is a world class fighter something Ricky isn`t.He could have took on Ricky with a months notice prior to May 2nd and he would have destroyed Ricky Hatton.

Hatton will not retire just yet, his pride won't let him go out on a defeat and it doesn't help when Golden Boy and possibly his father (he has a dodgy salesman vibe about him) are still keen to make as much money out of him as they possibly can.

I just heard him on SSN.

He either has a cold or his speech is starting to slur.

    I hope it's the former.

The last people to know when to quit are the fighters.. of course Ricky will want to go on. I am a massive Hatton fan and have been all over watching him... I would like Ricky Hatton to finish fighting and enjoy his money, his family and whatever goals that he has for his business's..

One of the most dangerous fights out ther for him is Witter.. I have said this for years... Why do you think that FW back in the day gave him a swerve..?? Hatton could have boxed him domestically for peanuts.. Witter was banana skin for Ricky back then, it was to big a risk with their long term plans.

I dont ever think that Ricky will give Witter a payday on the back of his name... but if this fight was ever to be made, it is not a given that Hatton wil win... :think:think

Put it this way, Herol Graham was more brutally KO'd against who was regarded as the worlds best p4p puncher in Julian Jackson, but he still came back & did pretty well for himself, even doing what Joe Calzaghe couldnt do & flooring Charles Brewer before his old body ran out of gas.

a quick & spectacular KO shouldnt spell the end of someones career, its a tough sport & sometimes **** happens. Hatton has a massive support, & HBO ae still behind him. To quit on such a brutal loss would be an awful end to his career, ask yourself this folks. If YOU were 45-2 would you want to end on such a low? or would you like to fight again & end on a high?
I know I would choose the latter.

I really hope Ricky gives it up. His win over Maliggnagi really made him look in much better shape than he is now, PBF started the ball rolling and Manny finished him off as a fighter IMO. Although pin point accurate, the KO punch with which Manny took out Ricky was hardly a haymaker. No, Ricky is clearly shot now i'm sad to say.

As it stands his rep among knowlegeable boxing fans (Betty not included) is very high.
If he tries to go on and ends up losing to the likes of Bradley or, god forbid Junior Witter, then he will no longer be known as a high class operator who only ever lost to two of the greatest pfp fighters in the history of the sport.

Come on Ricky do the honourable thing for yourself and your army of fans. Jack it in.

If Hatton had another L in his career the fight after Pac, it wouldnt make a difference IMO. If he doesnt win gain, its still the Pac fight hatton will be remembered for.
he owes it to himself, his fans & his bank balance to have an emotional farewell title fight in Manchester, & im pretty sure he would have it in him to win another belt at jnr welter & then at least he goes out on a high, gives his fans the chance to hero worship him one more time & walks off into the sunset.
Thats gotta be better than being remembered as the guy who got crushed by pac.
If Hatton loses again, everyone says it was truly the end of an era, if he wins though, he still goes down as one of Englands all time best. & when you compare him to Joe Calzaghe, Hatton IMO deserves the biggest balls award.
Joe retired with the 0, but Hatton at least stood up to be counted at the end of the day, unlike Calzaghe, who **** it from Froch IMO.

Hatton was deluded thinking he could beat either PBF or PAC. And you know he actually did believe he could beat them!!!
When Ricky beat Zoo it was truly one of my favourite boxing moments ever, I feel certain that losing to Witter/Bradley/Holt et al would do lasting damage to his rep.

As far as Calzaghe is concerned that is another story altogether. His win over Kessler was oustanding (I think Kessler is a beast and will win some huge fights over the next few years) and that convinces me that P4P he is a fair way ahead of Hatton. However Tocker Pudwill is all I am saying about JC's rep......
