i beleive kessler is the more complete fighter between the two. ive always regarded kessler highly than pavlik. the only chance pavlik would win this one is if he could land substantial amount of shots, something kessler wont allow. kessler has the better jab and superior footwork to keep pavlik at bay, and decent power to bother pavlik during infights. furthermore, pavlik was always an steady, wide target. kessler wins this one.
The only biased and uneducated is yours. Not only can't you rate Kessler, but you can't even rate Pavlik. This post is too sickening to give any further display of disgust. The only true thing is that Pavlik is a great finisher.
Pavlik outjabbed taylor, (whom had one of the best jabs in the middleweght division) Pavlik has a very stiff powerful accurate jab... pavlik throws straight sharp combos(as does kessler) and picks off punches well.. although kess does have a better defence truthfully how many pavlik fights have u seen??? it seems like u know a little about boxing and nothing about pavlik except for something u've read... the deciding factor in two pretty evenly matched fighters would be workrate, and that advantage would go to pavlik.. which is why i pick pav by close decision.... u call urself the danepugilist and u wont admit that u might be a little biased towards kessler??? why would i be biased, i like both fighters about equally..
I kind of feel the same way, but at the same time I think that Sartison is a far better boxer than we expected, imo he is a top 5 SMW. It's hard to look good against him, actually he would give Pavlik a good fight as well. :bbb
I think Pavlik would've TKO'd Sartison within 8 rounds. Not to say that Sartison isn't good, but Kessler didn't seem to try and get him out of there, and Pavlik would have made a point to do it.
I would pick Pavlik over Kessler by a close UD, or possibly a late stoppage. However, I think that Kessler's style and over-all ability make him the single biggest threat to Pavlik's Zero at 160 or 168. I've pointed this out before, but you can go back to the Zuniga fight, and work forward, and you will see that NONE of Pavlik's best wins came against technically proficient orthodox boxers.
I didn't say that Pavlik have a bad jab, not at all... Kesslers jab is just one of the best in the world, and he has assets that supports it to be frequently used with great success. I have seen all of Pavliks important fights, which are also the latest ones, thus the relavant ones. You can't say that workrate alone will be the deciding factor, when we have already concluded that Kessler has the superior defence, which is very important when you want to win a match. Workrate is important, but only if it is effective - furthermore Kesslers is pretty high as well, and very effective. Pavlik does throw from more different angles, but does switch between being sloppy and very accurate in the process. He is very open to Kesslers straight right, and one-two combos. Kessler works behind the jab, and for better and worse, he doesn't take unnecessary risks, very much unlike Pavlik. I am a dane, and I like Kessler, but I would like him if he was Argentinian as well, or whatever. I recognise skill, and he has plenty of it. Pavlik has also proved himself, but only at 160. Kessler is a big SMW, while Pavlik is a lankey man not being blessed with the best balance in the world - in comparison. Since I haven't been hit by either I will go by what I assume, and Pavlik has proven his style supports more killer instinct - for better and worse. I am slightly biased, and so are you, but you can ask any other non-dane or neutral party that isn't a troll, and he/she will say the same as I, or you can just view both fighters and match them up. Kesslers credentials speak for themselves. In 40 fights he have only lost a handful of rounds.
I think it would be the most awesome fight that can be made in 160-175. Their styles match up really well for an all-action awesome fight. 50-50 fight.
