Well, Povetkin's left hand would pose a problem, but if Wilder boxers off the jab, he'll find a home for flush, straight right hands. Definitely a knockout one direction or the other, but I can see why Povetkin would be the favorite. 60/40 kinda deal, though.
For the record, Wilder wouldn't have a better chance against Wlad than Lemieux did vs GGG and It'd be a big success if he saw the 8th round.
This fight didn't change my opinion about Povetkin. I still think he is a very good and dangerous fighter, but he still hasn't fought anyone like Wilder.
A big HW with a good uppercut and combinations would give Povetkin a roasting. Tyson Fury for example.
Who has Wilder fought like Povetkin? Or anything remotely resembling him, Povetkin has a great record at Heavyweight in today's era.
Stiverne remotely resembles him, I don't think he is as aggressive or as good, but he does remotely resemble him physically. I am not saying Povetkin can't beat Wilder, I'm humble enough to admit that he might very well do it. The difference is, you talk like Wilder has no chance, even though Povetkin has never beaten anyone with his combination of height, reach, speed and power. I'm saying Wilder has a good chance, not that he will definitively beat him.
I'm not writing Wilder off, he's a live contender in that fight. I just think he won't take Povetkin's power. Sasha went 12 rounds with Vlad, who's marginally shorter than Deontay, but hits harder, and has good hand speed himself. Luis Pabon ruined that fight though.
