If that was the case he would face him, earn a lot of money and a lot of respect, but no, Povetkin wins.
Wilder has been buzzed by Eric Molina -- a guy who ranks #50 and I've never heard of prior. Can you imagine the beating Povetkin would lay on Wilder if he caught him like Molina did?
Yeah because I don't like a couple of your favorites... Chicanos racism is one of the most blatant on this site, yet I've not once seen you point it out. You only seem to call people who don't like a couple of your favorite fighters "racist". A bit odd don't you think.
Molina is three inches taller than Povetkin and has more reach. Granted, he is not as skilled a boxer, but still, its generally harder for shorter guys to hit Wilder.
Wilder would have to perform the best fight of his career if he was going to win vs. Povetkin -- and at the same time Povetkin must perform at his worst (Huck fight). I just don't see it happening. If Povetkin comes in sharp and is swinging big combos, I don't see Wilder come out winning.
Considering they only have one mutual opponent, Firtha, this assessment can be based on absolutely nothing
If Wilder KO's or even convincingly beats Povetkin then he'll have my full respect. Until then the jury is out on him.
Tbh I'm probably 50:50 on this fight now. I want to see it. Wilder has a lot in his favour, though Povetkin is definitely more proven.
Povetkin has a lot of skills and power to match so it will definitely be the toughest fight of Wilders career I must say, but it is possible that Wilders reach if used properly would give him room to measure him with the huge right hand and ko Povetkin. It's a hell of a fight and event if it happens.
