I have a few problems with Pac being the fighter of the decade.

He actaully lost twice to JMM, he lost to an old Morales, should have been knocked out by Hussein, it took some odd refing to get him a win in that fight. and was getting his ass handed to him by Sanchez. He did bounce back with a win over a middleweight Oscar at 145, and cotto at 145. A vastly over rated Clottey. And a Hatton who was coming off being waxed by Floyd.

Pac won simply because floyd retired....and rightfully so.

In boxing majority of the time it will be what have you done for me lately concept and who is on the hot streak.....remember a HOTSTREAk got a fighter like Baldomire all sorts of attention...Pac is wayyyyy better a bigger name and was a on a trail blaze....and he DIDNT retire.....so i mean how can u not give it to the man when they other one was retired.....not Pac's fault.

for the record i do not rate Pac's wins over Hatton or DLH over Floyds...Pac's were more exciting maybe but Floyds hold more substance for legacy for me because he beat them at better stages in their careers.

I don't have a problem with Pac being fighter of the decade. He doesn't need a two year break away from the game for his body to heal.

Manny Pacquiao..FIGHTER OF THE DECADE. SCOREBOARD *****S!!

floyd should get fighter of the decade for leaving the welterweight division when it was hot and beating the big show at WWE.

seriously, just 2 years ago, no one was expecting pac to fight above jr. lightweight but now he is fighting at welter and dominating the top guys there. meanwhile floyd has been in the weight for several years and it's only now that he is fighting a real elite welter.

On November 19, 2005, Floyd Jr. fought his first welterweight fight against Sharmba Mitchell.

On May 1, 2010- 4 and a half years after fighting his first welterweight fight (with a conveniently timed fake retirement in between), Floyd Jr. will finally face ONE of the welterweights listed below.

    1. Antonio Margarito
    2. Shane Mosley
    3. Joshua Clottey
    4. Miguel Cotto
    5. Andre Berto

Manny Pacquiao, a naturally smaller fighter than Floyd Jr., and fought his first welterweight fight December 6, 2008, had fought and beaten convincingly 2 fighters on that list (Cotto, Clottey).

Pacquiao was The Ring Fighter of The Decade. Mayweather was second, with the magazine's Michael Rosenthal noting: "Sorry Floyd, but you need to fight the best to be the best." 147 pound Hatton, Carlos Baldomir, Zab Judah, lightweight Juan Manuel Marquez (plus 12 pounds of added fat) sure didn't help his cause.

BTW, Manny Pacquiao has 2 "Best Fighter of The Decade" awards: one from The Ring Magazine, and one from the Boxing Writers Association of America.

Floyd beats fighters at his most comfortable weight - Sometimes above even what he signed on for, and against 135-ers.

Hatton's most comfy weight was 140.

But hey - You make the call yourself - Floyd retired - Who SHOULD have beaten Manny as FLoyd cancelled himself out?

if floyd didn't take his 2 year break, this whole discussion would have never happened

Yes - But Floydettes seem to think that just showing up and fighting JMM 3 pounds over the contract against a fighter who weighed 135 pounds in his previous fight after breaking contract is what defines a P4P performance....
