I have Ruslan Provodnikov stopping matthysse late on

Molina is a big puncher so not that surprising to see him get stunned. He was walking through shots he couldn't even see coming against Garcia, his chin is solid.

Has provodnikov ever been in with someone who hits as hard as Lucas? Prov will be taking multiple flush shots against Matthysse, and unless his chin is absolute granite he's getting KO'd. Prov definitely hits hard but not as hard as Lucas, tough fight to call.

 

im not sure its a difficult one this. Problem is Mathysse can bang but hes also a decent boxer whereas a provo is a pure brawler who can bang. I just think that Provo might keep walking into big shots again and again but will be intersting to see how mathysse fights on the back foot and if he can still land big shots while being backed up

 

I love this fight. Two old-school, blood-and-guts warriors. Both guys take all comers and leave everything in the ring. This is almost guaranteed to be fight of the year. I'm almost more excited about this bout than I am about Mayweather-Pacquiao. I have huge respect for both fighters and I just hope no one ends up seriously injured.
As for the result, I agree with the original poster, I see Provodnikov getting the stoppage in the later rounds. Matthysse is the superior boxer and the bigger puncher but I think Ruslan can withstand more punishment and will eventually wear him down. I cannot wait!

Hes already lost to Bradley, Herrera and Algieri . . . . none of which are known to be big punchers and his biggest win is against Mike Alvarado
