I bought the whole box of them, many years ago, but had no way to play them. Some were marked and some weren't. I gave the box to my Granddaughter, thinking she might find a way to play them. They sat in the back of one of her closets for years and were forgotten. Recently she had some work done on her home and the box was brought out to redo the closet in question. Then she ordered something that would play the films.

You were 100% correct. It's part of Tunney and Carpentier, but appears to be from a different angle from what its normally seen, and has no text with it. As soon as I saw it, I knew who it was. You evidently knew without seeing it. Kudos for that!

Probably just as well or it might have been Klompton getting the heart attack :p

Klompton would croak if film came out of the Dempsey-Greb sparring session showing Dempsey demolishing Greb all over the ring.

Wasn't it Greb embarrassing Dempsey with his angles & rough tactics?
I read that in a biography of Gene Tunney

That's my point. In Klomton's book (Live fast, Die Young: the life and times of HArry Greb" by S.L. Compton), he descibes the sparring sessions as "four hard rounds" that Dempsey enjoyed before his chamonship bout. The next day, in front of fans and movie stars, Greb was "tearing into the Dempsey with no regard for the Champion's power". Next round they headbutted each other and Dempsey got a lump over his eye. I'm quoting from the book which I have in front of me.

Klompton has post in here hundreds of times about the Greb-Dempsey sparring sessions and expounded ad nauseum about Dempsey
"ducking" Greb as a result of the sessions.

Yes, that is ABSOLUTELY Krompton's position. It's clear from the dozens if not hundreds of his posts here that he believes Dempsey ducked Greb.

Greb might as well be black. Dempsey avoided him. It was a catch 22 for Dempsey, win and you beat a 160 pound man, win ugly and the critics will be out, lose and you lost to a middle weight. Only a blow out win which is unlikely save his rep. If he fought Greb I think he struggles some, possibly losing, but I'd pick Dempsey. But at least it will be filmed!

Don't start with the "Dempsey avoided blacks" thing....his management didn't let him fight blacks for a lot of reasons including money and yes, racism, but Dempey not only fought blacks in the ring (and in bars early on) but he had several black sparring partners for most of his fights.
Unlike Tunney or Willard who didn't fight blacks nor had them as sparring partners.
