The Ring is a magazine that Mayweather's business partner - Hoya, has a significant stake in. Of course Hoya would rather he made a lot of money by fighting Forbes in anticipation of Mayweather and Mayweather than if Cotto made that money fighting Margarito in anticipation of a bout against Mayweather and then Mayweather!

Nope, but Oscar did IMPROVE! His speed, endurance, and his gameplan were better suited to beat Floyd.

That doesn't mean he's going to be in that kind of shape when he shows up against Floyd, but it is possible that he might be able to win if he establishes his jab and sacrafices getting hit to win the fight.

He's got to be that aggressive though to win. But yeah, it's not out of the question.

Don't tell me you think Floyd is absolutely unbeatable. All it takes is for Floyd to have an off night and for Oscar to be on. ****, Floyd is taking so much damn rest that it's possible he might be rusty.

But, I don't know if Oscar will be able to push Floyd to the limit and force him to open up. When Floyd opens up, he gets hit, and Floyd DOES NOT like to get hit at all.

 

I've always stated from day one PBF would beat Oscar prime for prime at any weight from 147 and down he's simply better than Oscar period. Oscar has always struggled with speed and defensive fighters, see the Pea, Mosley and PBF fights for reference. Even in his prime Oscar's stamina wasn't great and he was even more of a one-handed fighter back then. PBF is simply to good to be beaten by a one-handed fighter who fades in the championship rounds prime for prime.:deal

Sorry guys, got to give it to Pimp C - it's pretty cut and dry. Oscar has faded in championship rounds MORE OFTEN THAN NOT, and has had a difficult time with speedy and elusive opponents. Mayweather, regardless of inactivity shows up ready to go 20 rounds.

Let's forget about this second fight with Oscar - Floyd will win this fight easily. Let's imagine that Shane Mosely didn't spend the majority of his fight with Cotto being Mosley the brawler and instead was Mosley the boxer. Maybe Mosley wins a fight with Cotto fought mostly on the outside. Can Cotto find Mayweather consistently for 12 rounds?

Doubt it.

 

YEs he can find him. You forget Cottos powerful jab along with his combinations to the body. You cant protect both head and body and throw something back at the same time.
Also like i said before i would love for Cotto to go with Floyd Sr. and work on his defense. Imagine the fighter he would become then.
He would have no weakness.
