Wasn't really vintage tbh, just used his knees more and got a win over a fat Cung Le. Not trying to put down Wandy or anything. but he didn't look anymore impressive than he did in his last few fights. Cung Le's just got a **** inside game.
Look, I gave Diaz his props. I was wrong and admitted it. I can BE A MAN and admit I picked a fight wrong.
in all honesty Wandy wasn't looking all that great until he caught Le slipping and capitolized on the knee opportunities. Other than the stoppage Le was controlling the fight for the most part.
The ending sequence of the fight was vintage Wand. The first round and part of the second, not to much. Wand was retreating way too much in the first round, even though shots he would land would effect Le. However in the 2nd when he caught Le with a right kick to the head, followed by a punch, the Axe Murderer smelled blood and his old instincts took over.
Yes, he didn't use a Thai plumb but the knee's were old school Wand. Powerful, brutal and beautiful. :happy Makes me want to see Wand fight again and not retire.
Personally I think the banning/gentlemans bets do nothing for this forum. When good personalities and varied posters leave, we all lose. To Anarchy, you might check out steve rattlesnakes website and the recommended links that are there.
Cool. Thanks bro.. Yea I'm not trying to get anyone banned, I mostly stick to YouTube when they post them.
I thought it was a vintage finish. The way Wanderlei used his knees and elbows to batter Cung were reminiscent of his bloody battles in Vale Tudo way before he fought in the UFC or Japan. It was a display of the kind of ferocity that made Wanderlei infamous. Vintage Wanderlei indeed.
Just saw it last night. Cung landed some good shots and hurt Wandy on a few occasions. Bad gameplan by Cung by standing in front of Silva.
