He ended up beating Cotto and was considered the #1 WW. Floyd retired. Years later Floyd fights a career LW and his fans say, well he was the #1 challenger.

On Showtimes ACCESS people really close to Floyd kept mentioning that Floyd NEVER puts himself in a situation where there is risks he will not win.

    That's some ***** **** there.

Does anyone know if his new deal includes any rules about who he could face? I mean, can he do 5 rematches with The Ghost and still get his guarantees?!

    He is smart.
He is really good and probably the best of his era.
    He calls the shots.
    He is the BOSS.
    You jealous ????

You can't call any boxer a coward but by boxer's standards I don't think you can call him brave exactly. It's all relative, me getting into the ring with Guerrero would be brave (or stupid) because I have no chance of doing anything except getting knocked into the middle of next week. Mayweather is leagues above him though, it doesn't take as much courage for him as it would anybody else because of who he is.

I agree to a degree. He is the man in charge. he is the top paid athlete in the world. He is the top boxer in the world. I may not agree with it but he calls the shots. Fans will want something but he isn't worried about fans he is worried about himself. And while I may not agree with that I can respect it cause he has earned his position at the top.

of course you can call a boxer a coward. people have a higher chance of dying or being injured in a car crash than a boxer does in a ring. are we extraordinarily brave for driving? if you are afraid of physical pain, then you probably think geting hit in the face is brave, even though you hardly notice the pain in a fight. the one thing that does require bravery, is standing in front of the world and showing everybody your true abilities in a situation where theres no room to hide the truth. some fighters just dont have as much courage to do this as others do.

I'd be surprised if this was true, proportionally speaking.

Doing what they do takes a certain level of guts that a coward wouldn't have. I'll never agree that it's something you can call a boxer at a decent level at least.
