I hear that Vitali's next opponent will be a tough contender with a legit shot to win

    You still here?

When did I say the Klitschkos were better than Marciano, Tyson, etc.?

    Learn how to read. :thumbsup

I don't know if 90% of my posts are regarding them or not but so what? That bothers you? They are my current 2 favorite fighters so why won't I post about them?

That's one of the best points made in this thread. When was the last time any fighter was ahead on the cards against either brother?

If they are supposed to be such lame, stiff fighters then why can't anybody beat them on the cards? Okay, granted they KO almost all their opposition before judges are necessary but seriously, when has either fighter been behind and had to play catch up?

You've just backed my point up for me. Thank you.

Why does Sam Peter's performance against VITALI have any impact on his ability against WLAD?

It ****ing doesn't. But apparently, in Klitschko land, it does.

Let me rephrase your answer to what's relevant in terms of a Wlad rematch.

Sam Peter is not that great a fighter, never said he was. In fact, I think he's an unskilled clubber, but that's irrelevant.

The only reason a rematch made sense was Wlad won (he's far more talented than Peter. In a different class altogether) BUT he got sat on his arse THREE times in winning the fight.

Now, a points win is good, but if you get put on your arse 3 times, it's hardly what I'd call a comfortable win. The other guy has shown he can trouble you at the very least.

So you have 2 fighters - 1 that has far more talent and ability, and the other who can put the better guy on his arse at any time.

Makes for an interesting fight, right?

Apparently not, because Peter lost to Vitali - who Peter was never, ever, ever going to knock down Vitali. Peter's power is OK but no more, and Vitali has an excellent chin.

It is a complete and utter travesty that Golota has had so many title shots, and Tua has had only one.

Yes, I'm aware you're a Golota fan. (BTW he got jobbed v Ruiz for sure, and maybe even the Byrd fight).

    Forget Holy.

Adamek and to almost the same degree Haye have got a bit to prove, but to be honest, I have no real issue with a guy stepping up 1 weight class and getting a title shot.

    Valuev is true.

Being a cruiser champ IMO is FAR more credible than anything the likes of Johnson, Austin, Arreola etc have done.

I remember when I was a kid I watched Ali on TV, then came Tyson, Bowe, Holy, Lewis. But when Golota came out in this one you can't blame anyone for being a fan...

Please don't compare these two. Vit lost less rounds in his whole career than Lewis lost to Mercer in a single fight. Klit is in a different class.

    Enjoy.

Yes, Vit is in a different class.

The class of fighters that Lewis beat in half the scheduled rounds or less.

Tho I suppose you're one of the Vit fans that still thinks he won that fight because he was 4-2 up on the cards?

Which Klit, the glass chinned one or the one that rode the bench for 4 years? Wlad wouldn't last more than 3 rounds with a prime Lewis. Lewis is better in amost every category, Wlad's chin would be exposed early. It would Probably look similar to Ruddick/Lewis.

Vitali would stand a better chance, but in june of 03 when he was in his prime, he couldn't beat an overweight out of his prime lennox. I can't see how he would beat a prime version of Lewis, thats just my opinion.

The problem for Vitali is not only to find an opponent for a voluntary defense (i.e. with rematch clauses), but also to find an available opponent for a CERTAIN TIME WINDOW (as mandated by TV stations). There may be a list of 5-6 credible opponents, but when you look at who is available and who is really busy fighting somebody else the list suddenly becomes very very short.

Obviously Vitali feels he's in the shape of his life and this is his chance to squeeze in as many fights as possible within the next 12-18 months before he undoubtedly has to retire.

Lefthook and you are pretty much patent joke posters.

    This content is protected

You start troll threads and fail to respond seriously when challenged as to who either Klitschko should face.

If t's embarrassing, it's hardly the Klitschkos' fault that they are so far ahead of any other competition.

That would be the competition's fault.

So who should they fight ?

    Haye ?

His team faked an injury to escape the fight and that's Wlad's fault ?

    Two weeks ?

    Fiction.

    He wanted a month.

And a month later, he got Vitali.

And ran again, to face the talentless Valuev.

A two time ducker, who'd **** his drawers if he ever had to actually step in the ring with either Klitschko.

    Povetkin?

He pulled out of the fight with Wlad due to an injury (A real .

    injury)

And while he was recuperating, he had second thoughts, and announced that he needed one or two more fights when he recovered, before facing Wlad.

    Tua?

He couldn't get a win against Byrd or Rahman, two guys Wlad demolished in under 6.

And was in semi-retirement till he beat a nobody last Saturday.

The fact is, your ass burns that the Klitschkos are the best around right now and consistently destroy any of the current opposition.

So apply some salve to your sore ass, and disappear till a better challenger comes along.

Your point re Wlad v Peter is a bit weak.

He was on the canvas three times, true.

Incidently, two of the three KDs were illigal clubs behind the head, but no matter.

Those were the only three rounds he was given by any of the judges.

    9-3.

And what difference does it make that Peter might give him trouble ?

At least he won the fight (and could probably have KOd Peter in the 12t if not for Mannny's instructions to just keep outpointing him).

Rahman might give any fighter trouble too. He gave Lennox serious trouble in their first meeting, but you remember how the rematch went.

Wlad didn't need two fights to get the job done. And that Wlad was not near as good as the current Wlad.

So a bit of fair play there, Sandman.

    And probably a correct opinion.

But Lennox was still in his prime ( if not in his best shape) on the night Vitali gave himall he could handle.

And Lennox was a top 4 ATG HW.

IMO, neither Klitschko is as good H to H or by accomplishment as Lennox.

But they are head and shoulders above anybody out there now.

If I remember correctly Lewis was at a higher weight for this fight, and if not, his stamina and overall fluid movement was not there that night. I believe Lewis was born in 1965, so that would make him 38 for this fight. I know no Heavyweight who was in there prime at this age, and Lewis was no exception.

As far as your opinion on the Wlad/Peter fight, Wlad did not look very good in this one. He appeared to be in fear of Peter's power, which forced him clinch 97 times and panic anytime something decent landed. I counted 2 of the 3 knockdowns myself, Wlad was draped all over Peter at points during this fight. And not only that, turned his back to Peter on occasion, allowing for Peter to land his signature punch, the overhand right. All 3 judges had it the same, Wlad ahead by 3 points on all cards. Far from a dominating performance for Wlad, but a win none the less.
