The fact that Wlad has already beaten every highly rated HW contender out there for the last 4 years means that Vitali has limited options.

Vitali is also the superior fighter to Wlad.

If america actually produced a decent challenger then maybe we would see some serious challengers, but they cannot.

It will take another eastern bloc fighter to end this dominance.

In reality, prime for prime Lewis vs. Wlad is 80:20 Lewis, Lewis vs. Vitali is 55:45 Lewis. With a lot of thrill for Lewis. Vitali vs. Frazier is 100:0,00000 Vitali, just in case.

Atleast we have a heavyweight champ who fights what is described as the biggest fight in heavywieght history at 38 wins ez and decides to take a stay buzy against an undefeated fighter with a ranking before the year ends. Not saying Johnson can win but Vitali is taking a Joe Louis approach fight guys you know you can beat in between the tough fights. Or between the so called tough fights because Vitali makes it look so ez. I cant see why people would complain about this.

Exactly. They are picking the best of what is out there.

These guys are undefeated, or nearly undefeated up and comers, and will be a more credible opponent than rehashing Oleg, Briggs, Whitaker, etc. Chambers and Johnson, as unexciting as they are, are still the best that's currently avialable. What else are the K brothers to do, when they've already beaten all the *worthy* contenders? .

I don't blame them for fighting those guys, sometimes that's what guys have to do when they have a belt.

The problem I have is the uproar afterwards about how fantastic the K Bros are after doing no more than a titlist should.

If you hold the belt, you shouldn't be losing to guys that have had 1 or 2 fights against guys in the Top 15 or 20 (at best).

Vitali did no more than he should have v Arreola. Arreola has done nothing even at contender level to be considered a serious threat. But yet these boards exploded with talk of "all time great displays" etc. Arreola confirmed that later with his comments about Vitali "running". The man obviously has NO idea what to do outside of a "plant your feet slugfest".

Come on, Arreola is about 5 contender level fights away from being a serious challenger. He had NO experience or knowledge to fall back on when a fight wasn't going his way, because he's only ever fought scrubs.

To be honest I've only seen 3 fights & Kevin won them all. Bruce Seldon, Vargas & Wills are probably his best wins.

 

Vit beat Lewis bad with a pending KO in later rounds, nothing new here, every day's business for Klit. Lewis got extremely lucky Vit got injured - avoided an embarrassing KO and possibly life threatening brain damage, no less.

Good for Lenox, good career judgement, he had no options but to retire after such a beating.

Lewis had good 5th round, I applaud him - he has guts. Just like Areolla had good 8th round, just as good as Lenox's. Didn't help Criss, wouldn't help Lewis if the fight continued.

Now I realise that Lewis had pending KO's coming over Rahman and McCall, so in reality, he never lost.
