I hear that Vitali's next opponent will be a tough contender with a legit shot to win

Vitali took out the three #1's of WBC in a row. If he fights No. 6 now on very short notice, it's not a shame.

Wlad fought only Top10 contenders in his last eight fights. I cannot see anything embarrassing with that.

And Chambers shrunk down from 220+ to 208 for his Dimitrenko fights. "Fat Cruiserweight"? Get real.

    who does he fight then?

    1. david haye/valuev? they are fighting each other. haye already walked away from a vitali fight, too much politics has been involved with a potential klitschko-valuev fight (so far)

    2. povetkin- has plans to take other opponents before a klitschko fight

    3. chambers- fighting wladimir early 2010

    4. tua- proved very little with his last fight. i hadn't heard of shane cameron

    5. toney- hasn't earned a shot. a possibility though

    6. holyfield- i would hope that fight wouldn't be sanctioned. he is an old man

    7. A-force- :yep

you can see where i'm getting with this. in the current circumstances, the only thing to turn to is an up and comer. johnson is ranked 6th by the WBC so its a legit fight. better opponents will come up next year, the WBA champ possibly

I dont think Kevin Johnson is a good opponent at all.
    Just have a look :

I'd be surprised if Johnson could beat Holyfield or Oquendo, there's no way he's good enough to give Vitali any sort of challenge.
Hopefully he'll come in shape though, I cant remember the last time Vitali fought someone who wasn't overweight !

I think Eddie Chambers is a decent challenger for Wlad though. He's earned his shot as much as anyone, apart from Povetkin.

Klitschko should fight Klitschko really, and stop being pussys about it.

after watching that fight, klitschko should fight toney or tua. beating this johnson guy at this point means nothing. i've read kevin johnson interviews where he claimed to be the next big thing, but going from fighting that vargas guy to fighting vitali klitschko will teach him a serious lesson

HBO won't show Toney at this point. They have mentioned this multiple times. Toney will have to get a few wins under his belt before they will consider him again.

Yeah, it's a massive step up for Johnson. I seriously suspect a fight with 47 year-old Holyfield or 36-year-old Oquendo would be too much of a test for Johnson. Nevermind Vitali.
And Vitali might as well fight one of those old guys too, Tua and Toney have at least looked in okay form and are proven durable, Oquendo probably deserves a shot even more so, and Holyfield, although he's been inactive, is both proven durable and coming off a disputed points setback to the WBA champ.
