I hear that Vitali's next opponent will be a tough contender with a legit shot to win

unlike peter, grant comes in shape and doesn't gas out and suck wind after throwing fifteen punches, and grant would murder that blown up, washed up middleweight toney. and if your gonna call people ******ed, back it up and dont make grammatical errors, ******

Chambers can't be compared to Jones or Cooper? He is 209 pounds, they were 186 and 188. Chambers has goos skills, good handspeed and chin. The accusation was that Wlad is fighting a blown up cruiser. Louis and Ali fought a lot of cruisers. You can't refute that. Louis has 17 wins over fighters over 200 pounds? Big deal, there are quite a few HW's who collect more than 17:0 before running into a reality check. Peter has more wins over 200pound fighters. Louis was great, that's not the point, accusatios against the Klitschkos are however stupid if the size of their oppnents is brought up in an era where HW's are generally bigger. No, Peter wasn't great but he was a tough man to beat before Vitali dominated him. And of course this whole thread started with the accusation that the Klitschkos fight weak opposition as if they are ducking monstrous fighters out there. Which more proven opponent could Vitali have fought for his comeback fight, if not Peter? My point is that the Klitschkos don't duck some great challenge, they take the challenges that are available today.

I commend you for creating quite some drama on the board with your ridiculous threads, but factually you have nothing to contribute. Your boxing knowledge is seriously lacking and you're mixing up historical facts as your comparisons are way out of whack.

Grant was "actually good"? He was brutally exposed by Lewis and never came back. Grant was a hype job as big a Peter, if not bigger.

Lewis gained credibility by beating fighters such as Morrison or Golotha? Those two were some of the weakest guys in his resume. Only somebody who has no clue about boxing history would even include these two in the list of Lewis' best opponents.

Vitali is currently regarded as the #1 HW, that's why he can easily choose to fight a bum like Johnson as a keep-busy opponent. His next mandatory is due early next year.

size means nothing if you dont have skills, you cant POSSIBLY think for a minute that HW's today have skills that could get them far if they were thrown in any other era. it was one thing if they were 230 lbs of muscle, but sadly that isnt the case. if you were to throw the likes of peter, arreola, toney, into other era's, they would be used for tune up fights. their size may make them true HW's, but their skills are severely lacking. i would take any cruiser such as cooper or floyd patterson over samuel peter or chris arreola any day of the week.

are you high right now? i didnt start this thread genius, you can talk to swann about that. im just voicing my opinion and ill continue to stand by it. and dont worry, lennox hasn't only beaten glota and morrison, hes beaten ruddock, bruno, holyfield, tyson, mercer, tua etc. any top HW back then was destroyed by lennox lewis. so if you wanna call lennox a hack simply because he beat golota and morrison, then the only person who's boxing IQ that needs questioning around here is yours my friend. vitali's resume is sub-par at best, and the one oppurtunity he had to prove he was a top HW, he got his ass handed to him on a silver platter, thanks to lewis. and if you wanna pull out the "vitali was winning" card out your hat, by all means please do, make yourslef look even more like a nuthugger than what you already are.

Nope, I don't disagree Lewis historical achievements rank higher than Vitali's. But that wasn't the original question. The question was why the Klitz box a bum like Peter and I showed you how all champs (have to) fight hype-jobs that later turn out as bums, be cause we only know in HINDSIGHT how good/bad a challenger was. Peter sucked, but we didn't know that.

Did you read the boxing blogs and forums prior to the Wlad - Peter fight? As far as I recall, there was a clear majority that was picking Peter by "easy KO". A few years later nobody wants to remember that and everybody always knew how Peter sucked in the first place. What a load of hypocritical BS.

It does not matter who he fights anyway because there is not one fighter in the World today that could beat Vitali Klitschko. None. You nuthuggers need to learn to accept that. Nobody is going to beat this guy.

Vitali and Lewis are comparable in terms of techn. skill, size, ring generalship, punching power, speed, and experience. Both dominate(d) their opponents with brawn and brain. With that, they are almost even (give or take).

Lewis dominated a stronger division. Vitali is ruling the division at least as dominantly as Lewis. But the division is weaker in this decade, and he shares the best opponents with his brother. Being avenged by your brother (TKO vs. Byrd) is cool, but harms the individual repuation.

Both lost fights - Lewis by KO to McCall & Rahman, which he avenged. Vitali to Lewis (a legit TKO) and lost to injury in the bout vs. Byrd, both unavenged.

Lewis is an ATG for his skills and resume. Vitali has the skills and already is in the HOF, but lacks the resume in comparison. His records might get him there (KO-%, highest number of won rounds in a row). Time will tell.

And, BTW, the fight of Wlad vs. Peter in 2005 was of the #8 vs. the #9 of the Ring magazine. The concensus of the boards was like "Peter is an uncut gem, let's see what he's got - Wlad is better on the tech, but has a glass jaw". www. b o x i n g s c e n e .com / forums / showthread . php?t=47413

well that just means alot of people gave in too the samuel peter hype, there was nothing about his performances leading up to the fight that made me think he was gonna beat wlad. his biggest win before the fight was taurus sykes!! who in gods name is taurus sykes?? he's just like chris arreola, fight a bunch of bums and hype him up as the one to beat vitali. and the same thing is being done with kevin johnson. I gaurentee this next fight is gonna get a ridiculous amount of publicity only to get the same result. again, not vitalis fault he's beating a bunch of stiffs, its just the nuthuggers that make it seem as if he's some kind of greek god everytime he beats a hyped up bum.

As I recall, Louis fought about one bum per month. I think that was the prevailing rate at the time. They all belonged to a club.

I can't remember what they called the club....

Tony Galento? Primo Carnera? Are you actually being serious? Galento would get raped by any top 10 heavyweight today, and Carnera would lost to quite a few of them.

It's not rocket science to come up with lefthook89 being a 20 years old knowitall. The only person that knows more than a 20 years old is an 18 years old. The only person who knows even more is a 16 years old. In the moment he brought up two tons and Carnera, the discussion was over, he is either just stirring the pot, or a fool. Well, probably, both.

The accusation here was that Wlad fights "a blown up cruiser" to which I responded. Now the argument changes, suddenly size means nothing, then why was there the accusation about size to begin with?

Chambers is skilled and if you think Patterson who lost to Johannson, who was probably one of the worst champs in HW history, has an easy time wiht Arreola, I think you are glorifying the old days like so many others. In past eras there were unskilled brawlers as well. Marciano wasn't exactly skilled, Quarry was a relentless brawler who was there to be hit, Ellis was not very good, many of Louis' or Holmes opponents were quite ordinary and would have been smoked by Arreola, some of the guys that gave Holyfield trouble (Chyz, Bert Cooper) would never land a punch on either Klitschko. We tend to remember the great fights of the past and forget the many low - level boring fights of a 70's Ali, how Frazier was overweight when he fought Foreman (as if fat HW's are a new thing), how fat and unfocues Douglas was when Holyfield won the title...

In ten years from now, people will have nostalgia about the times when the Klitschkos ruled and dismiss whoever rules HW then, ten years later, repeat
