The only boxer who got a gift tonight was the italian boxer with the walkover victory He had to get the gloves on and his head guard go through his walk on and then go to centre ring and be anounced winner Why cant they just say he was through ffs
Had it been a profesional fight with profesional scoring than, I think the Cuban was slightly better in all 3 rounds. As far as Olympic style scoring goes. It was a close bout that could have gone eather way.
Here's a clip of the judges giving their final score to Savon from 1.38 [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGLtrtD1Rk0[/ame]
I was there tonight and where I was standing all those around me thought Joshua won the first and lost the next two. re the Italian, I reckon the Angolan thought the Italian was too good looking to hit in the face and didn't come out for the bout. the jap and the Azerbaijani, my oh my. I agreed with the scoring, despite rolling around on the floor for most of the third round, he was still getting in the crisper shots, but what was the ref doing letting the fight go on! I'm glad to see the aiba overturned the decision. I thought the Iranian was very hard done by the ref. I liked how the Cuban showed his own disappointment by walking off with his towel on his head. and finally I missed the Chinese fighter knocking out the aussie... I heard it was a really good ko. I tried photographing Evander Holyfield, but my poor phones lens got overwhelmed by the glare of the lights reflecting off of his head.
I missed the first round, but from what I saw of the following two rounds, I had him losing. I was surprised when they announced the decision, but then I remembered that this was boxing. Robberies are unfortunately part of the sport now, on both the amateur and professional level.
Savon won all three rounds. More importantly, he also landed many more crisp, clean, punches. And more hard punches too. Joshua got a huge gift. The sort of gift kids dream about on Christmas Eve. He was simply out boxed. The most astonishing thing about it though, is that it was only the third worst decision of the session.
Savon outclassed Joshua in every way. He clearly landed more, had the cleaner more powerful shots & had Joshua hurt. It wasn't the worst decision, but it was a very clear decision. Joshua got some favorable judging at the world championships as well.
