I heard Price is coming back why does he do this to himself?

Stiverne would probably kayo Price in the pros, even today. What is your point, though?

Price would put up more of a fight against Wilder. Do you disagree? Stiverne literally didn't throw a single punch.

I'm not sure how past or hypothetical future match-ups between Stiverne and Price have any bearing on whether or not Price would embarrass himself like Stiverne did or actually go out like a warrior on his shield if he got a turn challenging Wilder?

i wished him well at the start but now im just watching for the entertainment value. if his family cant talk him out of it then no one can.

the problem is, that he hasnt changed anything. story was that in looking for a new trainer he wanted someone who wasnt going to try to change his style too much.

In fairness he did go over to germany for a bit to try to build himself back which took some courage, but the main problem persists. hes terrified of boxing and doesnt move at all. he really needs to get his confidence back if he wants to be serious, but if he hasnt now he never will. now hes back home, with all the comforts saying he wants another shot. honestly, he doesnt deserve it, but the car crash value now probably earns him enough to make it worth continuing. thats the tragedy

so, it'll be another adrenaline fueled performance where he looks for a big easy shot to appear then burn himself out and get stopped by some fat eastern european slugger looking like hes just climbed everest.

Hindsight is great, but he should have stayed an amateur, then trainer etc.

Price hits very hard if he catches you he can spark you out so he would have a chance with wilder but wilder would get him first anyone decent usually gets him first but if he connects its a game changer

He likes unloading all his shots, not knocking anybody out then gassing, because there is so much force behind his shots, its why he tires so early. He needs to make those punches count, and get them down to a smaller level, a counter-puncher. With his size, and lack of movement, just stay on the back-foot, and use the jab, and if they get to close land that right down the pipe. He's usually on the front foot, trying to KO people all the time.

I give the pre-exposed Price a very solid punchers chance against Wilder.... Sure -Wilder would probably KO him early. But Price hits just as hard about anyone in the division and had a bigger of swagger in his step and wasn't gun shy. If he landed the cross flush on Wilders chin it would probably be good night. That version of Price? solid 25-30% chance against Wilder. Now? 1-5% chance.

I don't think we've seen Price fight like that since Thompson 2. Nowadays he's a nervous wreck - which uses up a lot of energy in itself - who clearly just hasn't done enough cardio in the run up which when combined with his age and hamster lungs spells disaster.

We couldn't see how bad his stamina was before because he was blowing people out but make no mistake his poor fitness is nothing to do with him throwing power shots.

I agree with you IB, he would give it a good go for sure

I just hope for prices sake he is working really hard on his stamina and keeping his chin tucked in, he has the size advantage and at one stage early on I thought we had a new klitschko on our hands with a good jab and solid 1-2

maybe all those years of being haye's number 1 sparring partner took its toll?

Once in the south Pacific he could have a scrap with Samoa Joe or that bald bouncer in front of eleventy million aussies for the air fare home.
