All ive heared on most forums is Dawson this dawson that! And so I was really looking forward to the what has been claimed to be one of the future u.s elite fighters.
After all he was only going in against an ageing fighter in Johnson wasnt he??
So I was looking forward to seeing this guy fight and after 1 or two rounds he looked ok moved well threw some good combinations and looked like he would run rings around Johnson...... but then he got nailed flush and his legs went with one punch from an old man like johnson.
Dawson was wide open from that moment on and johnson found the same punch over and over, and dawson showed amataurish tactics by standing right in front of himinstead of tying in up and seeing out those dodgy rounds.
If johnson had just maintained an onslaught on dawson when he was on unsteady legs dawson would have gone.
As for the decision well it stunk out the place big style!!
And what this makes me think is, all the stick Joe C is getting on this forum, about fighting an ageing fighter in Hopkins ( yes the same hopkins who fought Winky Wright recently and at that time was not considered old or washed up, that fight was billed as a classic in the making and turned into a very forgettable fight) but yet after that fight people still labelled him a true warrior, champion, p4p great, YET NOW CONVENIENTLY HE IS OLD, WASHED UP! etc etc
Would the same be said of bernard if he was fighting dawson, tarver, or pavlik! I dont think so
Its very evident that there is one rule for u.s fighters and another for european/british fighters
The fact is JOE CALZAGHE ASKED ROY JONES YEARS AGO TO FIGHT, AND ROY PRICED HIMSELF OUT, THEN A DEAL WAS DONE WITH BERNARD HOPKINS ONLY FOR HIM TO UP HIS DEMANDS!
So ask yourself this, who ran from who????

Taver's workrate is to low to beat Dawson, not to mention he has poor stamina:deal

Clinton was awful against tarver, he looked scared stiff to be honest!
And people were trying to talk up a match with Joe C, dont make me laugh will you, at least against Hopkins Joe will go in there and do what he always does speed. tempo, combinations and pressure and the later is the most important pressure, pressure and more pressure.
Tarver looked good, but you have to consider the opponent and I really wanted clinton to win hes a good guy paid his dues and had some hard fights, but please clinton retire now!
As for tarver its now a viable option for Calzaghe because Dawsons stock must have plumeted like a stone after the johnson fight! and johnsons stock rose!
I would like to see Calzaghe v Tarver! then maybe fight Pavlik at a catch weight

The same glencoffe who in my opinion beat the fighter many in the u.s regarded as the next big thing! the same thing was said of jeff lacey and Joe C finished him.
As for B Hop he is going to be outworked, out thought and out fought, and any rough house tactics he thinks that worked before WONT work with joe
Joe C can rough it as well So unless Bernard suddenly gains Sprinters legs, and heavyweight power in his punches I really dont see how he wins this.
And I have watched many of Bernards fights, against de la hoya, dlh couldnt cope with the weightier punches and lost his ability to move with the extra weight the same happened with winky wright, Joe C is comfortable at the weight and feels stronger and still maintains the mobility, I dont think thats good new for hopkins.
THe only way Hopkins has a chance in this fight is
1 cortez referees this totally opposite to the way he refereed Mayweather v hatton and allows Bernard a lot of leniency in the fight and dirty tactics (which is a possibility)
2 Joe gets a stinker of a decision from the judges (also very possible)

I have to say I like Bernard Hopkins enjoyed some of his early fights, but this is a fight too far and he loses nothing in defeat to joe c
Respect to Hopkins for not upping his demands last minute this time and taking a fight with joe c, its going to be a good fight I look forward to it!
DONT BE SURPRISED IF HOPKINS FIGHTS ON THOUGH, MAYBE AGAINST ROY J OR TARVER!

Dawson doesn't quite cut it, he hasn't earned a Tarver fight.. Or any fight of such a magnitude.. He isn't in Glencoffes real league.. everyone saw how an old Johnson still trashed his ass.....

NB.. Not overly impressed by Tarver actually , i thought he looked a bit strained and flat.. there was no pop to his performance...

Joe C said it so many times and frank warren!
Joe C said 7 years ago he would go to florida knock on Roy Jones door and fight him in his living room or garden!
THen bbc quoted Roy jones saying its on if he wants it any time, Frank warren then tried to make the fight but the demands that were made were too high, and Frank warren said he cant make a fight if only one really wants it!

Then Joe C has said it again, and said ask Roy Jones if Frank warrens lying about the offer!
And nothing was heared from Roy J, he could have said frank warren is a liar and sued him for attacking him character but silence speaks more words than roy could ever muster! (and you have to admit roy was a good talker)
Ask yourself is roy was so confident why didn`t he just say ok ill fight I dont need extortionate demands and delays, ill fight Joe where do I sign I can beat this guy!
Why didnt he do that? ask yourself, if Roy Jones was so confident about the fight, why didnt it happen! It wasnt joe stalling, just like it wasnt joe stalling in the BHop negotiations.

Johnson won it though didnt he? I thought he was very unlucky not to get the decision.
And so did the crowd by the sound of them! wow
Have you heared that many boos before for a home fighter??

This win for dawson may have done more damage than good.
