I say this because this fight should've happened about 2 years ago when Pac was a wrecking ball. Now ,I think since the Margarito fight, I have seen Pac slow down just a step. If you think about it how many fighters can fight at his level going into thier early to mid 30's? Sure Pac is still better than most fighters out there but you have to be at your PEAK if you're going to BEAT Floyd Mayweather Jr. Love him or hate him, he is the most skilled fighter the game. So the reason I don't want to see this fight is because I think Floyd can beat this version of Pac and it sucks because Floyd BS'd and waited around for this version of Pac to show up. Then Floyd will fight and beat the lesser version of Pac and continue with the crap talking and all of his legions of fans (gay) will unleash thier homosexual fury on the rest of us real boxing fans (lol). Seriously, would you want you're steak dinner after it's been sitting out for a few hours? I wouldn't.

:dealAnd THIS is what people consider a great/ATG? Floyd is very good, nothing more. I agree, fight should've happened in '09 but both guys(mainly Floyd) screwed that up so screw them both and boxing moves on. Say what you want about the hvy division but at least the fight that needs to happen in Haye/Klitschko will happen....this Saturday too. I think there was a thread on what will happen first but the people who voted WK/DH were right.

:patsch Ability wise Floyd is one of the greatest defensive guys of alltime. I mean maybe his resume isn't top notch but head to head i would pick him over alot of guys. manny and floyd are both atgs.

I can see your point but the same is true for Floyd and if they fought in 2012 I'd be perfectly happy with that, but they ain't going to fight until they are freak'n senior citizens and want that old fame back again.

After Pac's last fight, I also thought he looked like he lost a step or two and slightly slower.

However; many were saying the same about Floyd after his last fight. Even Roach says Floyd's legs are gone.

Both have skills, both are aging, and both will eventually decline.

So let me get this straight, Mayweather purposely waited around for Pac to slow down by sitting around and not fighting anyone himself? I don't know if you know this, but Mayweather is older than Pacquiao. Only fighting once a year can only hurt you as a fighter. This would seem like a poor plan in my opinion for Mayweather to be inactive while waiting for a younger fighter to get loose a step.

Against who? old DLH? shot Mosley? Zombie Corrales? H2H and PFP are two different things. He would give ATGs problems but against the true ATGs(SRR,SRL,Hearns) he would've been stomped. He's very good, Pacquiao is an ATG. His ability is great, he isn't. His fault he didn't test himself enough these past several years.

This fight should have happened 2-3 years ago and now it will be a fight between the aged versions of both , if it will happen at all.
Its significance is removed from what it should have been.
BTW Pacquiao's resume is the better.
With that said his fight's outcome vs. Cotto is almost meaningless as the contract had Cotto more than fully drained , slowed and weak in the ring not to mention the damage he took from the loaded gloved Margachito.
A pre Margachito version of Cotto would have beaten any version of Pacquiao @ 147.

Fights Ricky Hatton at 147 after Hatton had trouble with Collazo at 147 then instead of fighting the likes of Cotto, Clottey, Marg, Cintron and Paul Williams to pick it up a notch he retires.

Those fighters battle each other and Floyd comes back this time to fight JMM @ 147 a pure lopsided exhibition bringing JMM not one but two weight classes above where earned his P4P status. Adds a few lbs. on top of it just to **** on fans and then doesn't fight Manny but Mosley after Shane is desperate for $ and 16 months stale.

So three virtual tune ups for another fighter who only has fought one time @ 147 and was knocked down - Victor Ortiz.

There is nothing special accomplished as a Welterweight as far as PBF is concerned.

Yes SRL waited for Hagler to decline very badly but he even tested himself against Duran, prime Hearns, Benitez, and has a good win over Kalule. Floyd doesn't have guys like that but when he did have tough opposition at the time being a WW(Williams, Margarito, Cotto), he retired. Coming back he beats a LW and only fought Mosley because Mosley was inactive and that Pacquiao/Mayweather didn't happen so he tried to save face. That says enough about him as a fighter, wasted talent. When he does test himself more like he should he will be faded assuming he fights on more.

I don't buy the pac has slowed down excuse, he's just as fast as ever.
