Why did Roy start declining and getting ko'd? Because the physical gifts he relied on failed him! Like Roy, pac relies on mostly physical ability! He's not outsmarting anybody in the ring! So what do you do with a fighter who relies in physical ability? You wait. You get it this time?
If he can't outsmart anyone, then how the hell would he ever beat an extremely intelligent fighter like Floyd even at his best? Apparently, Pacquiao is stupid outside of the ring as well. If Floyd's master plan was to wait for the younger Pacquiao to get old, then Pacquiao's ******ed ass shouldn've accepted the 14 day cutoff for the blood testing 2 years ago. Instead he decided to tell a bunch of lies , called off the negotiations and signed to fight Clottey.
pac is even older than floyd based on ring age. turned pro earlier and has more ring wars than floyd. style-wise floyd is suited for longevity.
I really don't understand why people are making excuses for Pacquaio already. When Floyd was on vacation, and not fighting anyone, he was a scared ***** that would get knocked out by Pac. Now that he's back and the fight is possible, Pac is all of a sudden washed up.
We as people are creatures of habit and Floyd has a bad habit of avoiding top level fighters in their primes. He could've had prime Margarito, prime cotto, prime Mosley and prime pac. Instead we got baldomir, retirement, inactive Mosley 8 years too late and now pacquiao 2years too late and counting. I won't be a complete hater though because we did get the Judah fight and we are getting Ortiz.
cool...Floyd's not that great... so a win over Floyd really shouldnt mean anything a loss to Floyd should show that he never was great because he got beat by a fighter who isn't that good this is what im gathering, no?
Well that was incredible defense against De La Hoya. Doesn't matter what you say. De La Hoya was throwing hard combos that would have surely hit Pacquiao. And Mosley did manage to clock Mayweather a couple of times so it's not just Mosley being old. it's Mayweather being that good. He totally negated Mosley and basically shut him out after the 2nd round if I'm right. I'll give you Corrales but you're basically picking apart his resume. There are plenty of names and good fighters that you decided to exclude. Mayweather is an ATG for sure. I would have him beating Arguello at superfeather weight. Simply because I doubt Arguello would get off often.
Pirme Mosely refused to fight Floyd, prime Cotto decided to fight for a vacant strap rather than go after Mayweather, and prime Pac decided he didn't want to fight Mayweather because 14 days wasn't a long enough time for him to recover from having a teaspoon of blood taken from him. Margo is the only guy that I don't think Mayweather wanted to fight, and he was later exposed as a cheater.
Well I stand corrected. For eight years Floyd chased Mosley and Shane finally relented and made the fight happen. And I guess it was a different press conference when Floyd replied that there was no money in cotto after being asked about the fight and I guess it was pac that started a whole new way of testing for that fight imparticular. What planet have I been living on?
The event would be better than the fight, as the legacy ramifications are diluted at this point. I'd still love to see them get it on, but both men are declined already and it's only going to get worse. Some things sweeten with age, and others sour. This bout is losing steam even in the eyes of the public because Pacquiao hasn't looked great the past couple times out and Mayweather has been inactive.
That's pretty much what happened. Wasn't it Cotto who paid a guy off to win a vacant title when Mayweather was a the real champ? Cotto's people also refused to put Cotto in there with Mayweather at 140 and they're the ones who said they wanted a fight with Oscar instead of Mayweather after Mayweather beat Hatton. Did you hear on your planet who Pacquiao asked for a $10M per lb. weight penalty even though he was fighting Mayweather at a weight that Mayweather has neve had a problem making? On your planet, is it normal for a guy to claim he needs 30 days to recover from a blood test? Pacquiao claimed his only problem with the blood tests was that he didn't want to give blood within days of the fight. If that's true, why turn down a 14 day cutoff?
