The only reason I dont want Manny/Floyd fight is simple in my case. We get to watch them more and with other opponents in the ring. Look at Floyd vs Ortiz, who would have guess that and thats what I like when other fighters are presented with the opportunity. The Floyd/Manny fight now could simply be the retirement for both, let them fight everyone else like they should:good

Once again I stand corrected ....Floyd mayweather is the most avoided man in boxing.

I never was all that hyped about this fight. Mayweather would make it boring with his defensive style and most likely shuck and jive to a decision. Just imagine a Mosely vs Paquiao rematch only in their fight Mayweather would throw and land enough punches to just win the rounds.

Oh no not this bull****. Pacquiao hasn't lost a step at all. He's been dominating his last fights jut as much as he has in the past. I see this as an excuse for when he is beaten by the better man. If they do actually fight, and Floyd wins, then he has to put him up there with the best of all time. Same for Pac if he wins.

how could you not want to see this fight but claim to be a boxing fan?

This fight is still very relevant...the same as SRL/Hagler, the same as Hagler/Hearns, the same as SRL/Duran, etc...etc...these fights must and should happen....its a shame that this one has not taken place...but i believe it will and when it does every person on this board will be tuned in.

If Pac has slowed so has Floyd....its a mute point though when they still dominate everybody else...therefore they still need to face each other!

different fighters age differently, no doubt. Pac vs Floyd would still be a great fight but it has lost some luster.

It has to be made for May 2012. Floyd has no excuse now, he's got to seek the fight as soon as he's done with Ortiz. If he goes silent again for a few months we know he never wanted none of Pac.

This is whats wrong with boxing. Too much emphasis on what someone is earning and not what belts he has or how many great fights he's had.

Fact is, Pacquiao is higher on the ATG list as it stands. Who gives a **** as to who's earn what. If its not me earning the money I dont give a ****...

Frankly I've just got bored with it, I really don't care that it won't happen.

And it won't, it's ridiculous that people think it will.

Well unlike the rest of you, I'm pretty confident that the cramp-less version of Pac that we saw against Mosley will still be too much for Floyd.
Pac did lose a step or two already though, make no mistake about that.
Be that as it may, I still don't think Floyd has a chance against a fighter like Pac who trades and throws combiantions after combination all under an endless pool of stamina.
That's just wrong for FMJ's "pot shotting" style unless FMJ will make it a point to run around the ring all night long and go rough on Pac (something Pac has never shown any proficiency against)

So no, not all Pac fans you know are "already making up lame excuses".
Now if only you *****s can follow suit and drop the endless excuses for FMJ. It's so gay and pathetic.

I challenge you, lay it down now, what would you say if after the battle against Ortiz, FMJ immediately goes onto vacation again?

Despite many of us thinking the long lay-offs are an inconvenience for him, I actually believe Floyd prefers to do it this way. He’s not too different from Haye in that, at this stage of his career, he prefers one or two fights every 18-24 months. He’s not forced into these breaks, he chooses to take them! Not to mention that his defensive, well preserved style allows him a longer shelf life, as oppose to the high-pace, all-out war mentality of Pacquiao’s that is easily more prone to quick depreciation.

So yes, with this in consideration, the notion that Floyd is waiting for Pac to slow down, is a strong one.

PS, I personally don't think the fight will happen at all.
