Pavlik has a cement dome too, he caught some hellacious shots from Miranda, and Taylor and kept comin for more, he needs to work on defense or he will have a short career..
PAvlik will not jump 2 divisions to fight BHOP. He will likely get embarrased, and he is too damn young. WIth regards to him having too much youth and reach, that's exactly what people said about Taylor and we see how well that worked out for Taylor against BHOP(bogus decisions aside). BHOP UD 12 Pavlik. Pavlik's lack of footwork will be his demise.
Your insane bro. One- Hopkins is the best defensive fighter alive (arguably). Pavlik AINT knockin him out. Two- Hopkins chin is STEEL. Pavlik AINT knockin him out. Three- The fight would be held above 160. In all probability at LHW. Hopkins is more used to that weight...and when ya move up in weight, you inevitably lose a bit on your power....SO.... Pavlik AINT knockin him out. Four- And seriously, with a KO out of the question....who really in their right mind would pick Pavlik by decision? Like I said, Pavlik AINT knockin him out.
Hopkins beats Pavlik. Pavlik is getting so much kudos for is win over Taylor at the moment I think people are losing their normal perspective in assessing his actual potential. While his victory was very impressive he almost got KO'd himself. Hopkins is crafty and if workrate alone and a good jab were enough to beat Hopkins now, even at this late stage in his career, Wright would have already done it. Hopkins mobility and defensive skills would not give Pavlik the same opportunities to set his usual high workrate. And even when Pavlik gets into a position to unload Hopkins would smother his attack.
Ya'll are crazy. Hopkins gave up reach and height against Taylor. He's not gettin any younger. Unless he takes Pavlik out quickly, he's gonna get knocked out. Pavlik is a slow starter and Hopkins is faded.
Yes, but you pick Hopkins over Kessler, who's a level above both Taylor and Pavlik, that's where this just becomes absurd.
I might reconsider my opinion. I'll watch him fight Calzaghe before I comment on this again. He has a high enough workrate, reach, and power. Yeah, Kessler has a good chance to beat a 42 year old Hopkins. What seperates Kessler from Pavlik though, is that Pavlik has more power, is a better finisher, has a higherwork rate and I think he has a more diverse arsenal. Will Kessler keep Hopkins at range: Of course Will he throw a good uppercut at him when he comes in to clinch? :think
