I know he was at the fight, but after reading recent interviews it doesn't seem like he wants PW again right away. His next move hinges on Pavlik, but even if KP does not invoke the rematch clause, I think Sergio may be looking for another opponent.

He's obviously seeking revenge against Margarito. But Marg is going to be caught up in the May-Pac negotiations as a pawn, potentially for a couple months. And if Sergio decides to keep the 160 belts then this is not much of a fight anyway.

I hope HBO forces his hand in the form of a big paycheck. It is the fight that needs to be made. Unfinished business here. So unless Mayweather somehow came into the equation or maybe the Marg fight at 154, anything else is truly unacceptable and a duck.

You are an idiot. Martinez is not scared of williams. If anything williams wasn't too eager for the rematch right after the first fight but now that Martinez has more titles of course he wants a rematch.

PW's "win" over Cintron has now raised more questions. In all honesty I think, PW must rematch Cintron and quickly. . .as in within 3 months.

PW has "unfinished business" with his last two opponents actually.

I thought he beat Williams. Why go after Williams right away? He just got that belt and wants to keep it for a while. He possible thinks he is going to get screwed again. I don't know if you watched the Cintron vs Williams fight, but Merchant stated that Pavlik is pretty much out. He can't make the weight. They mentioned something about Margarito, but I had to check on my grandson due to being sick and throwing up. Did I miss something about a possibly fight between Marg and Martinez?

I agree with you as far as hoping HBO bringing a big check. Martinez is a two division champ and has been in the game a long time now. I would love to see PBF vs Martinez first and Williams takes on the winner. Martinez will win whether he loses. Great paycheck.

Williams lost to Martinez, Cintron, Margarito and a glass chinned Quintana!

Martinez sure kicked Williams' arse! Williams owns the judges though. Crooked *******s!

Sergio, had what, a few weeks to get ready for 160 and PWill and still beat him up bad. Now that he is more settled at the weight it would very bad for Paul.

Pavlik has another week or two to exercise his rematch clause - otherwise we'll see Martinez face Williams again - UNLESS Mayweather decides to challenge for the middleweight title. Martinez would be a fool to turn that fight down.

Martinez did not have time to train for the Williams' fight, if he had he would have knocked William's out. Martinez does not need to fear Williams, he needs to only fear Williams' judges because they will cheat him again if given a chance, just like tonight's fight.

:good Absolutely, if Floyd and Manny doesn't get something done quick then I can definitely see Floyd going up to challenge Martinez @ MW. Everyone would love to see if he could beat Martinez whose on everyone's P4P list, win MW lineal title which would increase his legacy. Oh and it would be a big money fight.

for the life of me i dont understand how when a fighter himself (sergio martinez) says the fight could have gone either way, so he didnt feel he was robbed, yet esb members keep claimin 100 percent he beat williams. explain this

because he obviously won the fight. martinez is a humble guy. the fight was close, but clear. martinez landed far more hard, clean punches and won the majority of the rounds. i would never expect martinez to have a close fight with someone and be a cocky ******* and say he definitely should have won. it's boxing. it's subject to judging. judges aren't always right.

exactly. i greatly respect martinez for staying true to the rematch clause and saying if pavlik wants the fight, he will fight him immediately. dude's a class act all the way.
