I have seen jason fightg prob 15 times in amateurs and a few times pro...i really want to him to win but I would be shocked if he did...he has a lower workrate than chambers...unless he just lets it all go he will lose this fight unfortunately
not accomplished enough...lol...he won bout 250 amateur fights...beat the cuban in the pan am games and was an olympic boxer....???
Bah! Estrada beat very limited American opposition at the amateurs. He didnt win a single big international tournament at the amateurs. I stick to my statement. Estrada couldnt hold a candle to Povetkin at the amateurs. He didnt dare to cross his shadow then. Estrada's name had never been on anyone *' lips before he turned pro. He may have been a big number on American soil, but the USA is a dwarf at the amateurs anyway! My tiny native country beat the USA in their last encounter. I even dare to say that our local heavies at Minsk' best gyms can compete with Estrada.Bad luck for them that they dont have an American passport and dont get any support by clueless posters like you.
Actually Povetkin averaged about 77 punches per round over 12 with the flu. Jason's criticisms of Povetkin seem really weak. He doesn't hit hard, Povetkin has a 75% KO ratio while Estrada has a 17.65% KO ratio. Povetkin has fought weaker opposition, wins over Ahunanya, Bostice, Donald, Byrd and Chambers would suggest otherwise. Estrada isn't a bad fighter, he is technically very sound, and recently logged a decent win vs Lance Whitaker, but Povetkin has thus far proven to be a class above. I would go with Povetkin by TKO in 8 or so. This should lead to the Povetkin vs Dimitrenko bout in about June, nice timing.
Estrada maybe has the best chin in all heavyweight division. He will probably lose but it will be very difficult fight for Povetkin. No way Povetkin stop Estrada. Povetkin by UD.
The guy looks Kirk Johnson's twin brother, only with no punching power. I expect Povetkin to batter Estrada and stop him. Estrada will be like Lawrence Clay-bey, an overweight, lazy American Olympian that can't make it as a pro.
Bigcat is right! Estrada wasnt a great amateur.Despite his many victories over very limited opposition on American soil he never won a single big international tournament. And lets not forget that Estrada beat one of the weakest Cuban representatives who turned up for a big international tournament within the last 30 years! Povetkin didn lose a single amateur fight within the last 4 years of his amateur career, and unlike Estrada he fought the best amateur fighters of this glove out there. Estrada couldnt hold a candle to Povetkin at the amateurs
Povetkin is a bum. Estrada might be a bum also...we'll see. If Chambers can put it together, he can be decent in this game. Will Chambers win a world title? I don't think so, but it wouldn't shock me if he did. I mean Chagaev is a champ so go figure lol. I think that any capable heavy has a chance against Wlad, but Vitali is the harder man to beat.
