Gomez is decent but I don't think Cotto would need to hit and run against him. That's not his fight game anyway.
It won't happen, imo, although Gomez does look a fair bit bigger from some of the pics I've seen. Nice to know your willing to be consistent though. :good
Look at the size of Gomez head. There is no way Cotto can miss a target that huge. This content is protected
I can see Cotto fighting Gomez like he did Mosley changing the tempo of the fight by boxing and then mixing it up on the inside. Ive said it before this is a good fight for Cottoin the sense that Gomez will make him work for the win.
Gomez is game and he hase nothing to lose this type of fighters can be very dangers. but i don't think cotto is underestimating him.
He might box more once he relizes that Gomez is stronger and the bigger man. I unlike you see nothing wrong with a man using his boxing skills to win a fight.
Cotto can be effective at using the ring and moving laterally and on the backfoot. I don't consider it "running" or "hit and run" although others do. Cotto might do it if he's having success doing it and Gomez takes his shots well. Gomez might be able to absorb Cotto's shots well since he's used to being in there with bigger guy. Abduleav and Ndou, for instance, were strong tough guys that Cotto outboxed by using the ring and boxing on the backfoot.
Come on people, did you see Gomez fight a washed up Ben Tackie? There is no way he beats Miguel Cotto, none. Cotto only has to fear getting struck by lightning in the ring, that is about the only way he loses.
