Does anybody else sense a double standard on this board? Im not refering to you or anybody inparticular Stickandmove. But I've noticed a lot of people have blasted Cotto for not being more vocal and insulting Floyd. Personaly I don't think a top fighter should have to go that route. But Witter has choosen that path and there have been plenty of people who back Ricky's choice not to fight him because of it. Can anybody explain that?

thats bollocks i am a hatton fan and i know the score, not only does witter not have enough draw for hatton but hattons motive is clear. witter certainly has a chance of beating him, however i believe its a slim chance, if hatton wins it will just be said"oh well he should of won" but if he loses it will finish his career IMO so personally i would love to see him fight witter but i dont blame him for not taking the fight

So you are just backing up what we all thought, Hatton will only take fights where he is either a certain winner, or where he has nothing to lose

It's absolutely nothing to do with draw. You think Juan Lazcano brings many fans?

well you have a point cant really argue to be honest i am a hatton fan like him as a person but noone even a hatton fan can say that hattons excuses for fighting witter are plausible, he is obviously ducking him but i was just saying in a lot of ways i dont blame him. even though its the fight everyone wants it could be a career ender for hatton

Calzaghe put himself in a no win situation fighting an old man. Real fighters take a risk.

Wlad will probably fight Haye because he is much more confident of victory than Hatton appears to be.

Given Hatton probably doesn't want too many more fights, he'll stick stateside where his stock is _very_ high right now.

So, all the Witter fans want Hatton? No harm in that... but if Hatton wants a nice retirement villa in the south of France, he won't earn it fighting Witter. A fight with Witter might get him a weekend at Butlins, but that's it.

All this "real fighters take a risk" is horse****... Ever hear the saying "There are old pilots, and there are bold pilots - but there are no old bold pilots"?
