I just dont see how Floyd beats Pacquiao based on this performance

I think a lot of people are forgetting here:

-Floyd was easily outboxing a guy who was 168 freaking pounds (compared to Pac's 145)
-Ortiz was at his physical peak and has very fast hands
-Floyd has an iron chin - has never been knocked down in more than 10 years of championship fights
-No one is better at spoiling an opponents advantages than Mayweather. He'll make Pac miss, hold on the inside, potshot, and generally have his way
-Let's not forget that Pac went life and death twice with Marquez. Floyd won every second when they fought. To those who say "Marquez was too small for Mayweather": so what? All that means is that Floyd is probably too big and strong for Pac as well.

A lot of people underestimate Floyd's strength. Look at how easily he muscled supposedly bigger/strong opponents around, like Mosley, Ortiz, Dela Hoya, Hatton, Gatti etc. The only was I can see Pac winning is if Floyd ages overnight. The only edge Manny has is workrate and power, but the latter is neutralized by Floyd's great defense and durability.

 

Negative, that is not what he was trying to do with Hatton at all..Hatton also fights straight forward in a line...Pac does not...

Why do I think Floyd will "fight tall?"

BECAUSE HE IS SMART AND HE USES HIS ADVANTAGES TO HIS BENEFIT..I AM SURE THAT HE KNOWS HOW MUCH LONGER HIS ARMS ARE (AND REACH IS) OVER PAC'S....THIS IS WHY I THINK HE WILL FIGHT TALL.

SHANE AND OSCAR DO NOT FIGHT TALL. THEY WERE NEVER KNOWN TO FIGHT TALL...FLOYD KNOWS HOW, HAS DONE IT, AND WOULD BE SMART ENOUGH TO DO IT AGAINST MANNY PACQUIAO.

I would back Ortiz against any other welterweight out there.

Berto was widely considered number 3 before Ortiz beat him.

Sure Floyd was going to beat him,but thats because floyd IS THAT GOOD!

Vitali just beat the absolute **** out of the 3rd,maybe 4th ranked Heavyweight the week before.

Just because Vitali dominated him doesnt mean that he wasnt the 3/4th best fighter out there.

Like the Klitschkos, Floyd/Manny are just that far ahead of the field.

Off topic-How do you feel about a Martinez Mayweather at 154-156 or a Pacquiao Martinez at 150?

 

I think Martinez makes 154 easily enough,so Floyd Matinez at light middle is very interesting. Martinez would be a lot bigger,but I think Floyd could outbox him.

Dont want to see Martinez have to starve himself to get down to fight at 150. Wouldnt mean anything I think

It wasn't supposed to show you "how" he beats Manny...Your forgetting that FLOYD CAN SIMPLY START BOXING OFF THE BACK FOOT AGAIN...HE DOES NOT HAVE TO COME FORWARD...HE CAN MAKE IT A BORING FIGHT AND STICK AND MOVE..POT SHOT AND DROP STEP OUT, POTSHOP AND DROP STEP OUT...

The skill level, imo, is way different....I go to a boxing gym daily...the moves that Floyd does (like turning away from his opponent as soon as his opponent comes in) such as turn when his opponent turns...those are things that Pacquiao does not know how to do, or he does not do them...

Floyds better technical footwork will be what controls the ring generalship in a fight against Manny..Floyd will control the tempo and he will be able to use his reach..

I'm sorry you disagree but its clear as day..the guy knows how to fight tall and he knows how to box off his back foot..
