Some people in the other thread are actually picking a prime Forrest to KO Floyd. How can anyone seriously pick Floyd to lose by KO to anyone at 154 and under? :huh I'm not saying it's impossible but if you had to bet your last on a fight would you bet on Floyd being knocked out? When have you ever seen him even remotely close to being knocked out. He's been stunned a few times before but never even seriously hurt.

people on here dont rate fighters objectively, they base them on personality.

Its a possibility. One thing is certain Forrest could bang. BUT its all semantic as Floyds best weight was at 130. He was a speed demon at the lower weights and untouchable as far as im concerned. Up at 47/54 Forrest would have many physical advantages. But its not possible to compare both as Forrest never fought below 47 and PBF made his debut at 130.Prime for physical prime there in diffrent weight categories.

At some point, size overtakes skill. Just because we havent seen Floyd truly hurt doesnt mean he cant be knocked out by someone with a BIG size advantage over him.

That's why I said it's not impossible but what have you seen that even makes him look vulnerable to a KO up to this point in his career?

hey i dont agree with it, just stating that it could happen. i dont think floyd gets ko'd until he's way past prime and i doubt he'll be fighting then anyway

I don't see a knockout from Forrest because Floyd's great defense, anticipation, awareness, and underrated toughness/chin.

I only pick one person at 147 to stop Floyd; Thomas Hearns. Other than that, I think he lasts the full 12 with anybody including Leonard and Duran.

At 154, it's possible that Julian Jackson stops him as well as Mike McCallum.

    You're overrating his durability.

Leonard and Duran would definitely stop him. With Duran, he'd go into that defensive shell against pressure and Duran would be landing at a high rate due to his workrate.

Duran has more than enough power to stop Floyd, Judah stunned Floyd pretty good with a straight left.

Lately Floyd hasn't been hurt because he's neglected to fight real punchers.

Forrest absolutely KO's Floyd with a right hand bomb, if he can put down Mosely(a man with an iron chin), he can put down Floyd and put him away.

When the **** does Floyd have an iron chin? His defence is excellent, but at 147, his speed has lessened and guys with great timing can hurt him.

I'd pick a lot of 154's to stop Floyd.

Julian Jackson, landing perfectly flush on anybody, is going to at least stun the **** out of most guys all the way up to 168, much less Floyd Mayweather, who's not even a big Welter.

And the big thing is, these guys at some point in the fight are doing to land a perfect flush shot, it's not like the Floyd of 130 is fighting at 147/154, he's declining and people don't see it.

He's avoiding the biggest names at 147lbs like the plague, so I think he knows his limitations. Quite frankly I can see Forrest stopping him late.

Forget the fact that Mosley is much easier to hit than Floyd right? Let's just throw that right out the window. Oscar is a bigger puncher now that Forrest ever was and he hit Floyd with some good shots and never even bothered him.

Of course you don't understand it, because your head is stuck up Floyd's ass and you believe whatever is fed to you by the boxing media.

The former crop of Welter's in Oscar, Forrest, Mosely & Quartey were vastly superior to the current crop of Welter's that Floyd won't even touch. And don't bring up the excuse that he fought a past prime DLH who lacked any of the sharpness and speed that he had during the early 2000's in his Welter days when he and Mosely fought.

I don't understand how any of Floyd's Welterweight performances even give any indication that he could really hang with the big boys at Welterweight.

Was it dropping 5 rounds in a safety first exhibit against a poor version of DLH at 154?

Was it allowing Hatton to control the pace for the first half of the fight and having to dig against his raw pressure? Well hell, imagine what a REAL pressure fighter brings to the table instead of Hatton.

Was it allowing Judah to outbox and out counter punch him early?

Well what are fantastic Welter's like a prime DLH, Mosely, Quartey and Forrest going to bring to the table? They're going to bring a whole lot more since it's clear that they are a whole lot better.

I guess when Cotto beats him and stuns him multiple times en route to a clear decision, you all will finally realise that Floyd is not the unbeatable deity that you think he is. Outside of 130, he's very beatable against fighters of his talent level.

I think Leonard is more likely to stop Floyd than Duran, honestly.

As you pointed out, Judah's speed, timing, and power gave Floyd trouble early on and Floyd was stunned once or twice. Leonard had that same speed with more power and a higher workrate. During his reign as welterweight champion, he won every fight by KO or TKO. Duran went the distance with Zeferino Gonzalez, Carlos Palomino (who had an iron chin), and Jimmy Heair in back to back to back fights. I think Leonard hit a little harder than Duran did at the weight and had a better killer instinct when he got his man into trouble.

Both were capable of stopping Floyd, and it wouldn't surprise me if they did, but I see him being able to take a beating over 12 while having a good moment here and there. If he went into too much of a defensive shell against either, it would be trouble.

I guess I would know more about his durability if he fought Cotto. If here were to get stopped by Cotto, I'd change my picks of UD's to KO's for Leonard and Duran.
