That demand a rematch because chavez jr knockdown martinez and ppl here say martinez could have been ko if it was more minutes left? You all are a bunch of idiots. Why ppl ignoring what martinez did to chavez jr in the 11th rounds? Martinez easily took chavez jr to school. In the 12th round, yes chavez did knockdown martinez but how many seconds left? I believe it was 40 seconds left to go after martinez i believe got up and instead of running and holding for dear life, martinez trade punches with chavez for 40 seconds and before the bell sound, martinez got the better of it but yet ppl want to ignored that? Its freaking stupid. And what does a rematch be any different? This shows why martinez is top 3 p4p and this shows why chavez jr is way too 1 demensional and too slow. This 12th round was not close of the 12th round of chavez sr vs taylor.

I'm not saying Chavez deserves a rematch, but the logic (and that is, if you're even open to listening to reason) behind the potential interest in a rematch is that yes, Martinez beat Chavez comprehensively for 11 rounds. But even after all of that, Chavez still had the strength to almost knock out Martinez and steal the match.

Questions like, would Chavez feel more confident in his ability to hurt Martinez going into the rematch?

Would Martinez be more cautious cause he knows Chavez can actually knock him out?

Would Chavez actually train harder and learn something from this first fight?

    I'm just sayin'....

Martine did a lot of running, for 11 rounds he it a boring fight, the only time he decided to fight was in the 12th and you saw what happened. The only reason there is interest in a rematch is because the 12th round showed whats possible if both fighter came to actually fight.

i wouldn't say running cause their was a lot of time where he was on the rope and banged with Jr but he was to fast for him and all he did was outbox him

I don't care what anyone says, I know what I saw, and what I've seen...and the bottom line is that I would buy/enjoy watching a rematch, if some people wouldn't...whatever, but for my entertainment dollar, it's worth it to me.

It's like Khan vs Maidana...would have enjoyed a rematch, nothing about "demands", and I haven't seen anyone "demand" anything, but Junior was the champ, lost his belt, made them both a lot of money...why not rematch?

Not at all. There are just attractive fights out there for him against fighters we haven't seen him against. Go ahead and rematch, open up and let your hands go earlier; Martinez will win the same way, conserve more for down the stretch while Chavez' face accrues more punishment. And without any deliberate Tony Montana moments.

    GO FOR IT

Those are good pointa. I would add one more - is Chavez going to have even more problems making MW after 6 months or an year. For the TS Sergio was pretty badly hurt IMAO he was a shot or two away from another KD.

hahahaha for some people you'll only get respect if you use your face to block most of the punches

The fight sells itself and is the biggest money maker at 160. So many "what if" scenarios and like Reppin said, fans would watch it again. I will be shocked if there isn't a rematch, likely immediate.

I think if Cotto-Avarez, Sexy-JCC Jr 2, Golovkin-Geale could be made the 154-160 weight classes will be on fire
