    Pacquiao rejects bigger purse for Mayweather: report

    MANILA, Philippines – Fighter of the Decade Manny Pacquiao has thumbed down rival Floyd Mayweather Junior's demand for a bigger cut in earnings from their much-anticipated megabout later this year.

    A report posted on sports website InsideSports.ph said Pacquiao’s camp has reportedly submitted 3 different offers to the handlers of the former pound-for-pound king.

    The negotiations, however, hit a snag when the outspoken Mayweather insisted on getting the bigger cut in fight revenues....

    i think the fights gonna happen caneman. theres conflicting reports everywhere but its just little mind games and there both playing the media. i say it takes place in november, just a hunch.

    Do you realize that your so-called "inside information" was being speculated on for weeks before you leaked it? Cotto as the backup plan? Mayweather asking for more than a 50/50 split? Dayyyyum your source is on fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiire! These new articles are all based off the one shitty column out of the Philippines a few days ago.

    I've heard from an actual source that the purse split and blood testing protocol has already been agreed to. I'll take my info over your "I'm Filipino in Los Angeles" source.

    Yes, I think it's going to happen too (stated in my last paragraph). This is probably the usual prefight negotiations. There's just too much money involved. I have no problem with a 60-40 split for Floyd if the money involved was Floyd- 6 million to Pac- 4 million. But when it's so large that Floyd may get 60 million and Pac 40 million, that's just ridiculous. A 50/50 split is fair, 52/48 at the most.

    I agree with you that the fight will happen. And I hope your source is right. The point I was trying to make was my original post wasn't made up. Floydettes all laughed when news came out that signatures were ready to be signed. Then BAM! ABS-CBN isn't some shitty news agency like the Examiner. It's the largest TV Network in the Philippines with very close ties to CNN, the BBC and other respected news agencies. There may be disagreements to purse splits right now, but it doesn't mean things won't change for the better.

    So why would Manny now agree to the drug testing standards and now demand a 50/50 split, he lost his "upper hand" or even equal standing in terms of negotiations by walking away from the last fight. He walked, bottom line, and HE allowed PBF to get the upper hand in negotiations. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but Pac's camp made a costly gamble believing that PBF couldn't get a fight that demonstrated his ability to outdraw Pac, but it worked out where he did. 50/50 isn't fiscally responsible from PBF's perspective at this point.
