You didn't see those wide vicious body attacks because Mayweather didn't give him the positioning to land it, Mayweather constantly moved and turned him. Hatton couldn't set his self to land certain punches he's known to be good for.
If it wasn't for that ****ing cheater 'gravity', Ricky would have stayed upright. And obviously 'knocked out cold' was in Manny's pocket, too... What a bull**** fight. Ricky was robbed. Anyone who says otherwise is obviously an American.
He hit the top rope, and the ring post, and the canvas. Hatton really did a number on the ring that night. When he fell on his face I think that was the first time he'd landed solidly all night.
The problem with Gravity (or "G-money", as Floyd calls him) is, he doesn't seem to get when to show up. See, May paid him off to show up much earlier - in the 5th or 6th rd. But that slouch decided to wait until almost the last minute to show his lousy ass self. Finally, G-money did his job but not before Mr Turnbuckle decided to steal the show with his last minute dirty antics. He wanted the contract, didn't get it - so he spoilt the fun. Essentially, only the most delusional Mayweather fans and Americans were arguing for what was a blantant robbery. It's sickening :-(
I'm not a Hatton fan at all (don't like his style) but even I was disgusted with Cortez. Terrible ref.
i don't know about you but until those ****ers showed up i had ricky up 7 rounds to 2. plus i gave him a 10-8 round in the 3rd and 5th for complete domination. ****, i should have given him an extra point for wagging his ass at floyd to.
In this round Cortez allows Hatton and Floyd to wrestle eachother, and you dont have to guess who gets the better of who [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrYj8iA1USM&feature=related[/ame]
Exactly my thoughts. The old, "Hatton could have won if Cortez wasn't the ref" argument. Did Cortez trip Hatton into the ringpost?
After six rounds floyd was fightin in the inside with hatton and cortez didnt intervene so hatton did fight his fight the only problem was that floyd was too gud in the inside and broke hatton down inside. Hatton was never goin to win.
Yep. Hatton's biggest problem that night was not Cortez, it was that he was in against, purely, a better fighter. Floyd beat him on the inside, on the outside, and everywhere in between. It was a clinic on how to control a bull. Mayweather was every bit the matador.
