The only way Ricky was going to win the fight is if Earl Hebner was the referee This content is protected
A Floyd victory wouldn't have been a definite outcome had Cortez not been a total ***** of a referee in the fight. From what I remember, Hatton nearly had Floyd sitting in Sylvester Stallone's lap at ringside when he sent him flying back with a nice punch on the inside in round 1. After that, Cortez made sure it didn't happen again, and did everything he could to make it Floyd's fight. At the time and even now, I was very disappointed and confused the British press, Sky, and Hatton's people didn't make a bigger fuss of Cortez's disgraceful refereeing in that fight.
Well I hate to reign on your parade but the punch did not even land on mayweather and Mayweather stumbled back b/c his feet tripped over Hattons.. The punch missed by a ****ing mile. Look it up... sorry.
I was more bothered by the fact that Floyd kept ducking below waist level and turning his back on hatton personally. He had his elbow in ricky's throat, his shoulder in his face, and at times his back turned to him, and yet Cortez spent most of the night hassling Ricky Hatton. It wasn't fair on Hatton at all. Mayweather used every dirty little tactic he knew to win that fight, and ok I'm not suggesting for a moment that it even made any major difference to the outcome, maybe Hatton would've won a couple more rounds with a better referee, but he would have lost anyway. Hatton could be a dirty fighter when he wanted to be too, and he's hardless blameless. IN his earlier days he would box his way out of clinches and be much better on the inside, but post-Tszyu he got sloppy and just relied upon his strength and heart to win fights. Those brawls with Collazo, Tszyu and Mayweather really took it out of him I think. Even though he lost against Mayweather he showed a lot of heart and I think earned some respect from real boxing fans. In the end it took a sublime execution of skill and the turnbuckle to stop him, and Hatton didn't stop looking for the win until the moment it was over. He should've retired there and then, his legacy would've been fine.
Why did the elbow come out. Was he using it to pry Hattons clinching mauling ass off of him or was he elbowing his throat. Mayweather got dirty b/c Hatton fights dirty. Tit for tat. That bull**** video you eurowhores made shows Hatton doing dirty **** all the while you are highlighting only Mayweathers dirty play. Every single dirty Mayweather tactic was to nullify Hattons multitude of dirty tactics. Rabbit punching, hitting on the break constantly.. Sticking his head under Floyds chin while hooking his arm around and literally trying to wrestle him back to the ropes.. you know, like he did in all his fights including the dirty ass Tsyu fight.
Just look at the very beginning of this video. Hatton HOLDING with the left hand and swinging at the back of the head with the right. Mauling and wrestle boxing.. I will give more in detail times where he is breaking the rules and fighting dirty. Cortez did his ****ing job.
I'm not even gonna argue, coz you're right Hatton was a dirty fighter, and yeah he was clinching like **** anyone with eyes can see that. But he was getting the referee in his face, taking points, and generally being a ****, whereas Mayweather was being as dirty as **** too and getting away with it! The elbow in the throat business is ****ing outrageous, but Hatton didn't make it easy for himself by just coming in head first with his arms outstretched. Just remember you could crush a man's windpipe and throat down by doing that to him, not to mention cutting off oxygen supplies, its really dangerous. why didn't the ref warn him for that? Stop hanging off Floyd's nuts and try and be objective.
no way in hell was cortez worst than the ref for the hatton-lazcano fight. That ref was incredibly and obviously biased. Ricky would look over to him whenever he wanted the clinches broken etc. Not to mention there were times in the floyd fight when they were both allowed to work on the inside and hatton still got destroyed. I dont see a different ref effecting the outcome either since floyd was getting closer and closer with that left hook as hatton lunged in all night.
Hatton got knocked the **** out.. Mayweather knocked him the **** out. You are making excuses for Hatton. So who is dangling from who's balls. I dont have to be objective b/c I see one fighter mauling and the other countering with dirty tactics. If hatton would of boxed a clean fight with out bear hugging I doubt he would of ever caught an elbow in the throat. And not only that.. Hatton threw elbows of his own in the same clip. You just ignore it b/c you are a biased non-objective sack of ****.
I noticed Cortez that night it was terrible officiating.....After the fight watch Cortez he gets like 30 pics taken with Money May.......
:rofl you're ****ing stupid, did you even read what I put? I'm not making excuses, and I'm not even denying that Hatton is a dirty mauling fighter either, just stating a few cold hard truths about that fight. Stop sticking up for your boyfriend, he doesn't need you he's got 50 cent.
