Put Floyds punch resistance in questionable light? **** off mate, he has never been seriously hurt in any fight that ive seen him in.
If Floyd was hurt why was he able to not dodge HAttons punch, catch himself from falling, he also then proceeds to land a check hook, dodge 2 more of Hattons punches then land a jab, backs up a few feet and lands a lead right. Floyd took a right hook from a 154lb Oscar bouncing off the ropes with a chin in the air and he laughed it off. You think t rex arms hatton hurt him? Please.
Calm down, it's just my opinion. I've never seen him hurt either, but my opinion is that's because he's one of the best boxers ever at avoiding being hit, not because he has a good chin. His punch resistance is a bit of a mystery because his defensive skills are so good. However, judging by the above clip where he does get hit with a clean counter right, he may be vulnerable if he comes across a boxer who is good enough to get past his defence. Again, this is all my opinion as a humble boxing fan, and there is absolutely no need to tell me to **** off simply because you disagree with me.
Floyd was in many wars throughout his career and been caught with big punches by the likes of Castillo, Corley, Judah and DLH. The only time I've seen him shaken was against Corley and that very round he had Corley on his knees. Floyds chin is top notch.,
Cortez is a great ref who makes sure fighters fight fair. You want to wrestle, hold and hit, join the MMA...
Floyd was never hurt by anyone except Corley who had him badly shaken. IMO it looked like Floyd wanted to see if he could take that shot... I remember because I think Roy Jones had either lost or looked bad against Tarver and won or lost to Tarver(memory), and Floyd wanted to show the world that he was the best all around fighter. Floyd was badly shaken, but came back to win the round...
After breaking the clinches up too quickly in the beginning, Cortez was more lenient later on. Mayweather still got the better of it. He used his own set of roughhouse tactics and fought effectively with one arm tied up. Hatton didn't suddenly get desperate because of the point deduction. Was his leaping left hook something new? He used that punch to knock out Maussa two years earlier. He used it in his fights afterwards against Lazcano and Pacquiao, with that move against Pacquiao coming in around TWO MINUTES into the fight. Hatton always does that ****. The point deduction came in round 6, and Mayweather didn't really start giving Hatton a beatdown until round 8. And that came up close when Mayweather kept hitting Hatton with right hands to the body (with his left arm locked up with Hatton's right), and landed a right uppercut to the head. Then Floyd unleashed an onslaught upstairs and downstairs to Hatton.
Cortez would not let Hatton fight on the inside. Cortez took a point from Hatton for hitting a ring rope! Void appears to have had his referee.
