Andre Berto is also ranked #2 behind Clottey in the IBF rankings ...

I kinda wanna see this fight ... not on PPV but on a WCB card ... its nothing for Floyd to get paid a cool 10m to fight on regular HBO and fight a nice young up and coming - undefeated contender.

We have to remember that Berto isn't a prospect any more and once he won that regional belt and fought a stepping stone in Estrada his status changed to contender.

Bring on Shane Mosley ... have them fight in a final eliminator ... so just in case Berto's not the real deal ... we will get a chance to see Mosley get his ass whooped by Floyd and that will generate some good numbers.

This is perfect, Have Shane Mosley fight Berto, with the winner getting a mandatory fight against Mayweather. Which will never happen because Mosley fights for Golden Boy & King has the WBC in his back pocket. What a shame, such is the politics of Boxing...

Berto is never going to face Mayweather, and he's already the mandatory for a belt that's about to get vacated, so it's probably moot. They're just paying the sanctioning fee to hedge their bets in case Mayweather gets stripped, but it will be a while before Mayweather has to face another mandatory, and he would much sooner give up a trinket than take a low money fight at this point in his career.

Man, nobody can take Berto lightly. Not as long as he unleashes monster punches in fast, accurate combos like he did in the undercard of Williams-Quintana against the German kid Trabant... Guys like Mosley being at a different level and Berto not just about there is just a misperception - Mosley would have to fight like against Cotto or better to win a close decision over Berto... And Mosley is one of the best 3 WWs in the World!

It's not a bad strategy. There's about no chances that BPF will fight Berto only to keep that belt. I know PBF loves the WBC and they love him back but they could probably make him an Emeritus Champ... or create an interim title so that Berto can get a belt.
