Hatton is not racist whatsoever. Some of his heroes, namely Mike Tyson, is black, & Ricky hold Mike in very high regard. In fact, when Ricky met Tyson in Nov 2005, he was ecstatic at meeting Mike.

On the subject of Barton, I do not like him one bit. Joey may not have had anything to do with his brother committing murder, but he has assaulted a fellow footballer while at Manchester City.

 

Probably decent, but boxing is regional in the UK. The black people from up north will follow him. I've seen black people cheer him on at fights, and I suspect it is no different now. The south could be different, I don't know.

Hatton has had black fans and probably has even more now. These two connections don't change anything.

Manning's jokes were racist, but he wasn't. A few days after his death, a few black people talked about him as their friend.

 

Tommy Hearns is also a friend of Hatton's. As is Sugar Ray Leonard, in particular.

 

It's not my ignorance, it's yours! Look at my Ali/LaMotta/Tyson/dempsey etc. argument earlier in the thread and refute it. Do you dislike these people for what their friends did?

I don't know, but the majority, including me, don't.

 

I don't understand why it matters to you so much? Why the **** does it matter? If someone doesnt want to support someone based on colour, fine, but shame on them, dont spoil our party.

 

How can you need proof? Watch some Hatton fights and look into the crowd. It's not hard to find. Hatton has black fans, end of.

And if Manning's black friends don't think he was racist, who are you to say otherwise? Think abot how ridiculous it is. Manning had black friends, but was stil racist? Come on...

 

Has it occured to you that Hatton does not have as many black fans for reasons that are outside his control? He is himself.
If you have 'issues' then that's fine, but don't attempt to demonise a basically decent man.
