pac was giving up some early rounds but was getting some great body punches in. that told on erik from the 6th round onwards where he lost his legs as a result of the very effective bodywork by pac. pac was very methodical in breaking down erik in this fight resulting in the TKO in the tenth. we have to remember that pac still holds the distinction of having been the only fighter to KO erik in his career.

Its not about age. His body was much more then 29 years old with all the wars he had and also the fact that Erik peaked very early in his career.....

Anyone with half a brain and wasn't molested by a gang of Polish terrorista's knows that a prime Morales beats Pac 122-130 handily.

probably @122 and 126... but not @130. erik had lost punching power when he went up to 130 as he never KO'd anyone at this weight.

He beat Pac at 130 outside of his prime.

we have to remember that there was a headbutt and a cut involved here. pac had a big gash which poured blood profusely into his eye for more than half the fight. this was also pac's first fight @130.

And Pac has been cut in how many of his last fights and still managed a victory?

Morales was passed his prime in the second fight, it was pretty clear he wasn't the same Morales as of old.

    JMM?

He should've retired right then and there in that ring when the descision was announced. It wasn't apparent at that point in time that he was going to completey bottom out, I mean he just won a clear, competitive victory over Pacquiao. Retirement was not really a viable option considering this.

No, Morales was not in his prime in the first fight, and if you had watched him enough in his career you would know that. If you have been around boxing long enough, you would know that boxers can often pull out one last great win. In these events, they may look like they did in their prime but are indeed past it.

On his best night in a Miami heat uniform, Shaq was able to look prime, but not able to do so consistently. A great fighter like Morales was able to do the same on that night, but probably couldn't have done so consistently.

Anyways, a prime Morales beats Pac more often than not, while a prime Pac beats Barrera more often than not. Prime Pac and Marquez are always a toss-up, because Marquez has the ability to outbox and counter him but not enough of a chin to hold up to his power which has proved the great equalizer. Morales did though, and thats why he matches up favorably with Pac.
