I didn't see DLH doing enough when he could have, but what was more suprisingly was that I didn't see that domination I hear of from the part of Mayweather. I actually saw him land maybe two good combos and two good punches in the ENTIRE fight.

Oh of course! The fight was between two boxers who are rigth around the same talent, skill and experience levels. DLH has more experience of course and Floyd has more talent, Skill and youth.

But it was clear that both men struggled to gain ground throughout the fight which was why we saw a split decision victory for Floyd who I though edged DLH.

DLH has a very legit chance at upsetting the #1 P4P fight 2nd time around. It really depends on the game plan DLH and Sr come in with. And DLH needs to really work on being consistant with his Jab...otherwise Floyd beats Oscar in a more convinging fashion this go round.

I thought it was a clear victory for Floyd. Alos if Hoya could have use the jab more, might of won more rounds. I'm thinking 9-3 or 8-4 Floyd. But the reason why the rematch is happening is because people said it was close. Which is bull ****

that fight was 8-4, even though every person in the crowd damn near had a heart attack every time dlh threw a punch.

Floyd won but by no means was it a domination.

The compubox numbers for that fight were way the **** off. They had Floyd landing at a very high percentage while i saw a lot of his punches getting picked by Hoya with his gloves.

Floyd respected De La Hoya's power and didn't want to take any chances with exception to the last round when both men were throwing their guns in the final seconds. Floyd fought more cautiously and as a result, his output was less. De La Hoya, being the bigger man could have and should have taken advantage, but he was concerned about gassing out and did gas out which resulted in semi flat performance. Like someone else said, neither man really got off and got going, it seemed more like a warm-up sparring session.

Did you expect the crowd to be Money Mayweather fans? Regardless of how the crowd reacted the fight was very close.....as close as any of Floyds harder fights. That may have been his most difficult fight to date aside from the 1st Castillo fight. But floyd had an injury going in to that fight.

Of course! Why wouldn't it? The fight was very even given that DLH had the size and weight advantage and Floyd had the youth, Talent and speed advantage. So going in to this fight I considered it a toss up. Anyone could have taken it. It was apparent after the final round when no one really knew who would get the nod. I thought Floyd won by a round.....maybe two! There were some close rounds. But agian...the fighters are very even.

Yes the fight is closer then people seem to remember... at least the general public. In MY eyes, mayweather clearly won, but clearly won a close fight. But it still doesnt make a rematch exciting to me. I want to see Mayweather vs the elite at 147... not an older, bigger oscar. Oscar will always give Mayweather problems because hes THAT GOOD and has a good size advantage to work with that skill.

Id still much rather see Mayweather vs Cotto and Mosley, and the winner of the Marg/Cintron fight.

I think that a Split Decision was fair but it could have been scored a Draw and nobody would have protested

Good post. On the other hand you can't blame oscar for wanting the rematch. He came close to beating the #1 p4p guy. Of course he wants another crack at him.
