If the fight was so close, why are so many people bitching about the rematch? I see plenty of people on this board call for a Mosely/Cotto rematch, yet they chastise this rematch.
Probably b/c the fight was so boring. The Mosley Cotto match was by far a more exciting fight with a "questionable" decision going to cotto.
The fight was kind of close only because Floyd takes a few rounds to get his distance and time the other guy. But in the rematch, Floyd will know all about Oscar coming in. Oscars frantic arm punches will be even less effective this time around, and Floyd will be beating him to the punch over and over. Might even be a stoppage this time.
Most people expected Mayweather to win the first time; he did. Most people are expecting the rematch to be a replay of the first fight with Mayweather possibly winning even more decisively the second time around, and I'm sure he will. There's no real suspense or drama with this fight. All the people thinking DeLaHoya will pull off the upset are going to be really disappointed the morning after the fight. People are bitching because they already know what's going to happen. This fight isn't being made because the first fight was close, it's being made because Floyd wants another career high payday.
Hoya has to utilize his jab the ENTIRE fight for this one to be even as close as the last. After the 8th, I had it even. Oscar stopped using his jab after that and it was curtains.
Mayweather had trouble with dlh's jab, parrying defense, own solid skillset, and also really has no business being at junior middleweight. Mayweather won it by an 8-4 count, but he wasn't impressive.
Come on man, Floyd won, and it was clear cut, but he didn't dominate DLH.... And people, stop trying to rationale this fight, it sucked MONEY BALLS... That fight had NO memorable moments, signature blows (wow a right hand at the bellatsch ). Floyd decides to stand and trade with 10 ****ing seconds left, man you guys will accept ANYTHING.. Oscar groupies literally "screaming" everytime he threw a punch. And yes, Oscar is fighting the P4P #1 fighter in world, BUT he also knows he's not getting hurt, so he can fight this "shitty sparring match" type of fight and if he's standing, guess what, I WON....atsch
The reason this fight is not exciting is because one fighter is shot and the other one has never really been asthetically pleasing. Never takes enough chances. Even though before the fight he promised a toe to toe fight. Im sure he will be saying that in the 24/7 show. He is gonna knock Oscar and make him pay. HAHAHA. Let me translate that "I took this fight to avoid a prime fighter and make alot of money while tricking my fans into thinking im the greatest even though i fight either midgets or washed up fighters, I am not interested in standing toe to toe, I just wanna get paid, I dont give a **** about pleasing the fans, Its all about my bank account"
I don't hate Floyd THAT MUCH , but I can assure you 1 thing, I won't buy this **** when the time arrives... Who am I kidding, I'm a fight junkie and will probably purchase it anyway:yep
There is no doubts whatsoever - Hoya won 4 rounds at most and that is being generous. Seems to me that we are stuck into the same **** since last May - had Hoya not stopped using his jab from round 8 on, things could have been different... BS, different, my big brown behind! This is another Hoya hype job and months before that fight happens. Prescott should simply be called each time a thread like this happens so that he comes blasting ya pretty bad... Man, not even with 3 Tom Kazcmareks would you win and I am not sure if you gonna beat Forbes to start with.
