And I wanted to know what i should work on at home more. Getting down jab catching, slipping, and blocking the cross OR should i get down proper form on the hook and uppercut. Thanks, YoungHypnos brother
Thats what I do aswell, but what should I learn first? Hooks and uppercuts or the defense for the jab and cross?
I am in the same gym a my brother a loca PAL. I learned the 4 basic punches and the basic blocks/dodges(IE. the slip, catch, bob and weave), but I want to know what I should spend more time at home working on? i spent the first few weeks specializing in footwork in order to get the 4 cardinal direction movements down as well as the pivot and circling. I then went home and practiced my jab and cross in the mirror for a few more weeks until I got the form down. I can now throw the jab and cross well enough to move on, but I wanted to know what I should move on to.
In my opinion, conditioning. Newbies to the gym don't understand what kind of condition they need to be in. (not usually until they gas out in a fight) It's probably best to save the technique stuff for when your coach is around to make sure you aren't building any bad habits.
Alright thanks. Yah I know the conditioning they have to be in. It is crazy. My brother is having me do sprints and distance running right now.
