Smith and Atlas were both disgusting. They didn't give Horn any credit like he was blown out. Any impartial viewer can see that fight was close with many hard to score rounds. 115-113 either way is fine.
I agree 100% . Atlas is just annoying as hell hard to watch a fight with him going overboard when Pac wasn't even landing that much. Hell both guys wernt landing clean the whole fight. The Other guy not Tim B was just kissing Pacs ass it was pathetic. Stephen A Smith is just, i cant stand hearing him, does he have to yell and over exaggerate everything. But Tim B was fine he was ok. Just bring back the guys that did Tuesday night fights on USA network and have them commentate ,on ESPN both of them were great commentators. Teddy Atlas was acting like he lost his house on a bet on Pac. LOL Correction acting like a FOOL
Another poster who confuses Lampley and Lederman. Lederman is really not an announcer and might speak less than a minute total per bout.
You mean Lampley....not Lederman..****ing hell. Why cant you idiots tell them apart? Lederman sometimes never even speaks a word, he is HBOs judge and is usually pretty spot on. Lampley is the older announcer that screams nonsense. "Bam! Bam!"
Obviously Lederman isn't a play-by-play commentator, while Altas is, but they both do unofficial scoring. What I was getting at is that as annoying as Lederman can be, as biased and/or idiotic as his scorecards sometimes are, what we saw from Atlas was far worse. The fact is that we had Atlas blabbering away nearly the entire fight, and essentially jamming his scorecard down your throat. Whereas with Lederman, we only have to deal with his input for about 30 seconds every so often. Atlas was a thousand times worse because he just wouldn't shut up about his scorecard. And just hearing Atlas cry about it after the decision was read was embarassing. I mean he was sitting there at ringside pounding the desk he was sitting on making the camera shake. I've never seen anything like it, it was completely unprofessional. Lederman's never thrown that sort of a temper tantrum even when there's a decision that flies in the face of his scorecard.
What Lederman cards clashed with the majority opinion of other sports writers? He had Trinidad edging Oscar, thats about it.
In Kov Ward 2, for example, he was just giving rounds to Kovalev when Ward was landing the better punches. There was one round in particular that he gave to Kovalev where it was just like WTF, Max said he disagreed, and obviously Roy disagreed as well. Round 4 or Round 5 wasn't it? At times he just gives rounds to somebody for just moving forward regardless of who is landing the cleaner punches.
There's plenty of examples, or specific WTF rounds where he just allows one guy to get a big lead when in reality the fight is much closer. And when he explains his card, he acts like it's clear as day that somebody is winning rounds easily when in reality the rounds are very close and could go either way. It's not like it happens all the time, sometimes his cards are OK generally when fights are easy to score. But when you get a hard to score fight, generally he just goes with one guy and just keeps giving rounds to that guy no matter what.
Everyone is going to disagree on the occasional round. What Lederman scorecards conflict with the majority opinion of other writers and can be deemed idiotic? You are dogging the guy but you can't name an example. The majority had Kovalev ahead 1-3 points at the time of the stoppage against Ward. He falls in with almost every other writer in that regard.
Are you reading my thoughts or what? Stephen A needs to STFU. And Teddy? I think Teddy has taken one too many shots to the head. He acts like his audience is a bunch of elementary school kids. Can't listen to either one of these guys.
Actually I'm not dogging the guy, rather I was saying how much worse Atlas was last night than Lederman usually is. (I said Atlas was so bad he made Lederman seem tolerable in comparison) And I was referring not only to his scorecards, but just in general how distracting his explainations are to watching a fight vs how distracting Atlas was last night. So I'm not a huge fan of lederman, but like compared to how bad Atlas was last night, he made Lederman seem like a HOF boxing voice like Howard Cosell or something if you get my drift. There have been times where I've disagreed with Lederman's card, been annoyed by his voice, or the way in which he explains his scores which at times seem like he's watching a different fight, but Lederman's never been as bad as Atlas was last night, that was my general point.
What I want to know is how a loudmouth like Stephen A keeps his job. That guy is the biggest loudmouth I have ever heard. EVER. He hardly even comes up for air he is so desperate to get out his next word. Must have been neglected as a child. lol
The amount of crying from SAS after that fight last night was unbelievable. Literally I was just staring at the screen like is this guy serious. He was repeatedly calling the decision bogus and endlessly carrying on about it to no end.
