I thought that was a great event then and my opinion still hasn't changed. I hope they continue to put out great cards. I still think my favorite fight was Arlovski vs Rothwell. I didn't hate one fight on that card though. I hope their decision to go with golden boy turns out to be a good thing. I am a boxing and MMA fan so the two things put together is a very interesting thought.
As of now - I'm thinking Affliction had the best card of the year so far. I think it was smart that they delayed their next PPV. The need to build the brand around Fedor. It will be worth the wait.
Yeah Fedor is a promoters wet dream right now. And postponing that event gave them an opportunity to prove they live up to their word by letting Arlovski fight on another card. Kind of a blessing in disguise if you ask me.
Man, Arlovski vs Fedor... Affliction are gona blow their fuse real fast. There won't be enough exciting matchups soon. They have to work to build up new fighters.
I actually just watched again also, great card I like the AA-Fedor matchup because there is barnett after that and the UFC still promised randy they would try to make that fight when/if possible. but of course not likey
I would really like to see Barnett vs AA, two former HW UFC champs to get a shot at fedor. I think it could be a good fight too. AA coming out on top of course lol.
I haven't heard any news on that. What's the deal? From the words of Aleks he just said he was late. From the words of the commisioner(or w/e) Aleks will never fight in US.
Still haven't seen the event. I was going to order it, but I decided to go with Cotto/Margarito. I was in the exact same position when WFA had their stacked PPV card in July of 2006.
Thats why the internet is so great. Order one event and stream the other on the internet. There is tons of places that will stream any event, not hard to find at all. I know some people want to support there favorite promotion or whatever but if they have an event the same night as another org **** em they should have planned better.
