I just watched Chavez Jr-Martinez again. Sergio was done and got saved by the bell

Its true the fight took a lot out of him and he may not have much left. Martinez will likely be fighting on shot legs from now on.

 

chavez was clearly the fresher fighter after the 12th round.

i wuold love to see the rematch because someone is going to get kod.

 

The thing is Junior had the time to stop Martinez and didn't stopped him, of course Martinez went down and was hurt, but he had to work to get "saved by the bell".

But in all fairness I don't like the rematch because I think Chavez takes it this time.

 

12 rounds of boxing and this genius is focused on the last minute or so of 1 round. Log the hell off. You've embarrassed yourself enough.

 

If it was a 15 round fight, Sergio would have been in trouble.

 

Martinez won the fight very clearly and Chavez Jr deserves praise for his 12th round effort, even though he didn't want to let his hands go at all in the previous rounds. Personally, I think Martinez was basically in prevent defense mode in the 12th, which emboldened Chavez Jr to throw, and if Chavez Jr had let his hands go earlier in the fight, he would have been countered and stopped by a fresh Martinez. But that said, it was still a great effort from Chavez Jr in the 12th round.

 

it just goes to show how terrible julito is. Sergio was dazed and jr still couldn't finish him off.

in fact, when sergio got up and was up against the ropes he still connected more punches than jr :rofl
