I just watched Floyd vs Mosley

Im confused a little by what you say, Why does Mayweather need to throw more combinations? His connect rate is double that of Pac. Conneting is the important factor imo!

Also when he was in the lower devisions he threw more combinations and didnt get hit any more than he does now? So your premis is wrong when talking about PBF.

 

He doesn't need to throw more combinations... But how can his offense be as good just because percentage wise he's high.... That doesn't make sense cause offense is judged by the amount of damage you inflict on your opponent and it's not close..

And he did take a bit more punishment at the lower weights.

 

His offense is good, because he lands a high percentage, he throws accurate punches that are neck snapping and eye catching. He has a great jab, great straight right, left hook etc etc He has so many shots in his arsenal too he can hit you with every shot in the book!

Granted he doesn't sit down on his punches and try to knock his opponents out but he still controls his fights.

 

His offense is very good and his arsenal and array of punches are great... But what I was saying is that his connect rate and his opponents connect rates against him are something special. If he threw more combination's and let his hands go that would probably change some. It's just the nature of it, punch more, hands can't block shots. He'll still have the roll and his reflexes, but it would leave an extra hole.

That's the way he fights and what he's mastered.

If they were to switch oppoents mayweather would look better against Cotto than Pacquiao would aganist Mosley.

Pacquiao is a freak of nature and is guarenteed to give us an amazing fight. Mayweather has proven he can overcome adversity and I believe is stronger, faster and smarter than Pacquiao. The thing with Pacquiao is he can throw up to 6 or 7 punch combinations at blinding speed which is why he can catch his opponent they never saw coming. One other thing is Pacquiao can actually carry out a game-plan. I'm on the fence with this fight, it's too hard to call

pac throws 3x the punches that floyd does it doesnt matter about connect rate but how many punches land in the fight and do the damage and pac wins hands down.
