I was thinking the other day about some of the sparring I had done. Some of it made me laugh at the predicaments that I found myself in. So, I thought I'd start a thread for some of you to share you sparring (or even fighting?) experiances, that you still get a laugh out of. I shall start.. I was a 6'2 lightheavy. One session my trainer informed me that a superheavy of ~100kg/220lb was coming for sparring  Anyway, the guy walks in. His about the same height, but really broad and stocky. So, I figure I'll just have to put my skates on and keep working around him. My thinking was his not going to have many punches and will be pretty new to it if a guy that much bigger is being put in their with me. So, I was going to work him over with my hand and foot speed, and hopefully annoy the **** out of him with my jab. I knew I was f***ed when this 100kg/220lb monster slipped the first jab I threw and come up with a left uppercut that nearly decapitated me
when i decided to brawl a brawler in the final of the scottish novice championships and the kid hit like a mule we got in a right war and it took me about half a week to recover
I remember when I fought a guy who really could bob and weave and was very hard hitting. I was faster than him and danced around him sticking my jab. I stopped dancing just for a split second to hit him hard with my left hand (I´m a southpaw) he slipped it and nailed me with his right hook to the ribs. I could feel how everything moved a little, hurted like hell and yes, I knew I was f***ed. It took me three weeks to get rid of the pain in my ribs after that one punch. Was a great fight. All the best the Predator
It's good to get hurt in sparring, if you don't feel pain you will not know what your doing wrong, make all the mistakes in the gym and be safe.
I Knew i was ****ed when I was put in to spar with a 64 kilo russian at my local pcyc.. This was a month before my first am fight at 75kilos.. I thought i could handle him because of the size difference and i was until he unleashed a 10 punch flurry and had me on rubber leg street.. I found out later that this guy had 50 amateur fights in russia and got the silver in the state titles back home. He was about 6 kilos overweight when i sparred him thankgod he wasnt taking it seriously
Me and this other guy at the gym were finishing off our sparring by only throwing bodyshots for a round. I was basically dominating and I could see his frustration grew. I never really wear a cup when I spar by the way. So then he throws this huge haymaker down below out of clear anger and frustration, I cover up my abdomen and think that it's all okay... I knew I was ****ed when I felt my balls being shoveled up my ass... After a minute or two I was still lying on the ground holding my balls like a little *****.
i knew i fcked when some kid came into my gym for some sparring,,,, while im warming up shadow boxing ... i over him talking about how next month on his birthday his moving to mexico to turn pro....
