You put way too much emphasis into sparring

Funny you talk about weight bullying but never bring up Josh Taylor who kept delaying his move up to welterweight and when he did lost

Reality is Josh Taylor was always overrated and feasted on a weak division

I don't care about sparring stories

Taylor has zero wins vs anyone as good as Porter or Ugas and his prime was just as short as Spence

And yes Terence Crawford would beat and likely stop Taylor at 140 too if he was still there and almost certainly stop Taylor at 147 if Taylor was a welterweight at the time

Although I will concede it likely wouldn't be in as devastating of a fashion as Crawford did to Spence

    No I don't

Because he wasn't a weight bully

He weighed 149lbs vs Olivera and less than Rougarou on fight night

He became a weight bully later in his career but he wasn't dragging fighters up in weight and world champions up in weight like PBC's tried and trusted formula

But just so you understand I couldn't care less if he or anyone else weight bullies, holds like an octopus, or win gifts from the judges if it's against fighters from across the pond who do this. In fact I welcome it. What's good for the goose, is good for the gander. I'm just being real with you

He literally bashed Porter's head in Porter's own gym when he was a 7-0 140 pounder and Porter was a former welterweight champion and he dropped Ugas and sent him to the hospital with a damaged jaw

Taylor was so overrated he became undisputed 4 fights quicker than it took for Spence to even win one world title and, unlike Spence he wasn't cleaning out 140 of all its 135 pounders and featherfists albeit Spence obviously cleaning out 147 of al its 140 pounders, and he actually fought many legit punchers who were career 140 pounders

Crawford may well beat Taylor but, unlike Spence, Taylor doesn't have a glass jaw, get dropped by jabs, and have to buy time for his head to clear on 3-4 separate occasions by spitting out his mouthpiece after getting clocked by light to average punchers

Lol you know people are scraping the bottom of the barrel when they bring up sparring sessions.

No one with a record of 18-4 (he lost TWICE to a C level Catterall) gets into the IBHOF. Maybe the Aberdeen HOF. Maybe.

    Haney beats prime Prograis easily

That fight had nothing to do with age

They all most likely beat Prograis

    They all could beat Taylor

    He was never that good

Teofimo Lopez would always most likely beat Taylor

    Just a much better fighter

    "Prime Regis Prograis"

    Hahaha

Reality is like another poster on here said

Taylor and Prograis were never that good

It's not just a coincidence that when Haney and Lopez moved up they both got outclassed

It wasn't just that they weren't in their primes

    They were inferior fighters

Same can be said for Spence or Shakur. Weak divisions, right place, right time

No matter how you try and spin it becoming undisputed in 18 fights, the record of all your opponents at the world level (from your 14th to last fight) being a combined 201-3, or 203-4 including the Catterall rematch, is impressive and, as said, he fought many punchers and wasn't dragging opponents up in weight

Sparring stories are the lowest form of boxing discussions I immediately tune out when I hear them.

Josh Taylor was excellent. It goes without saying.
This thread should be locked cause it's over the line of trolling/hating.

Short prime and a weird sudden regress, but when he was beating back to back undefeated world champions and top fighters he was a fantastic fighter to watch.

This is the only sane take. Saying "oh no, he always sucked" is obvious trolling, you're right.
