It was obvious that Angulo didn't deserve the hype around him, yes he's a strong fighter who has good accurracy but he can't fight going backwards and he's never fought someone who wasn't afraid of him. James Kirkland was faster, naturally bigger, and just as relentless. He showed great boxing ability, jab'n ... headmovement ... and agility ... he further exposed Angulo. Once Angulo took a step back I knew he was going to lose.
I think most TRUE fightfans were hoping he would prove the haters wrong and that the Ishida loss was merely due to being overtrained and in the gym too much too soon without proper rest or nutrition.:deal I, for one, was HOPING for exactly what we got. I didn't think Angulo had all that much hype around him. Especially not after the Cintron fight. I just thought of him as a competent boxer/puncher with a tendency to brawl. On the other hand, I don't think you can blame people for being skeptical about Kirkland's chin. The Ishida fight was a disaster. Last night Kirkland showed world class whiskers. Knockdowns don't mean ****. Look at my man Little Red: suffered 11 knockdowns in his career. Nobody in their right mind accuses Danny of having chin trouble.
I won't talk as much **** as you but...I did say many times in the days leading up to the fight that if Kirland dispayed ANY boxing ability, he would beat Angulo. I will not lie and say I saw the KO coming
