I knew The Ring would not move Joe up the p4p rankings for beating a shot fighter.

This is why P4P is so stupid. If you are P4P #1 and you lose you most certainly should be moved down the list. What is the point of P4P if you are just going to let fighters keep their rankings after moving up and losing?

P4P is nothing but fantasy and conjecture. If you move up in weight and get beat guess what? Your P4P status was not correct it is as simple as that.

You don't understand p4p at all. If fighter A and fighter B are flyweights and fighter A is undisputed no.1 in the world and fighter B is no.2, and fighter A jumps 3 weight divisions to fight the superbantamweight champion and loses, how does that make fighter B a better flyweight than him? Why should B go ahead of him purely because he didn't take a risk and go for a big fight and greatness? Why should A be punished for that? A is still the better fighter at his own weight, therefore he must still be pound-for-pound number 1 despite the loss.

i think chris john deserves a ranking.

very good fighter at featherweight, no one calls him out , despite john being willing to fight in his opponents backyard.

undefeated /long time champ/and holds a win over the rings #2 fighter.

out of sight out of mind.
also i beleive wladimir deserves a ranking.

At least Casamoyor was throwing some leather back. Casamoyor is nowhere near what he used to be but he isnt nowhere as shot as Jones. After the 2nd round Jones was like a walking punch bag for joe, he couldn't connect or move he was just standing there. Jones was half dead in there.

There is no comparison I'm afraid.

In your fantasy world of P4P why are you trying to REWARD fighters for losing by keeping them in the #1 or whatever spot they are in? It is idiotic. By your logic the P4P fighter could move up weight divisions and lose 2 or 3 fights and still stay #1. :huh

i personnaly think he had a case for going up. in the midst of all the jones is shot thing ( i agree, he pretty much became totally shot half way through that fight, that cut didn't help ) people have totally ignored the masterclass joe put on. i thought he was pretty sensational myself, the way he kept banging away at that cut and just oozed confidence were the hallmarks of a unique and great fighter.
not saying he defineatly should, its just doing my head in the lack of acknowledgement he's getting. yet again .

thats what i said to peeps before, you have to look at how shot the fighter is compared to the level they were in there prime
roy jones was shot to bits, compared to his prime
cassa was still a deacent fighter who would cause anyone in his division big problems

    thats the difference

If you can't move up 1 or 2 weight classes and win you are not the #1 P4P fighter in the world period. And that is why P4P is a fantasy. Do you also play Dungeons & Dragons? :rofl

This was the point I was trying to make.

He might not be punished directly for losing to De La Hoya, but it will have wasted time. The last two things he would have done is get his ass kicked by De La Hoya, and beat David Diaz.

Except he KOd Casa, whom has never been knocked out.

Plus Casamayor had recently beaten a top 5 lightweight so he was not as shot.

Also Casamayor fights technical fights and is less effected than Roy who used to rely on speed and reflexes.

You can't seperate Pac and Marquez since we all know it could have gone either way. That is why they sit next to each other until one of them loses.

while past his best Roy Jones was also fighting much better competition than he fought in his prime also. That has as much to do with it as anything else. When you go from handpicking fights with police officers and sanitation workers and fighting BS mandatory fights all the time to someone like Tarver or Calzaghe it was a wake up call for Glass Jaw Roy.

Casamayor has more left than Jones has. Casa also was coming off a big win. Jones' last good win was Tarver I.
