I knew woods would go the distance, but cloud looked good.

He does use the jab when he comes in, which is a good for a shorter fighter. Jeff Lacy never did that. I think alot of people are overrating Cloud, but you are underrating him. You said he was slow, he is not slow. He's not as fast as Roy Jones, Pascal, or Dawson but he is faster than Glen Johnson, Tarver, Lacy, or Chris Henry. He has above average speed which is better than the opponent's Dawson has fought recently.

 

I guess we will have to disagree...I dont think that Cloud would beat any of the last few guys that Dawson has fought. Tarver beat Woods in more dominate fashion then Cloud did, and Gonzalez had lost two fights in a row going into his fight with Cloud. I think that its a reach to make a statement about him being better then the guys that Dawson has been fighting. Besides I think that Dawson would beat Cloud EASY. Its a fight that I think will happen soon, MAYBE, Clouds people have already been fairly safe about who and were he fights so we'll see.

 

I have no idea who is watching which fighter when I hear someone say Cloud is slow. That strikes me as a bit absurd.

 

Woods is washed up. A prime Woods would of put up a much better fight or even perhaps won.

 

I like Tavoris Cloud and slow he isnt ! ... his combinations were impressive last night and his power looks awesome ... His stamina looked strong over 12 rounds as well despite eveyone thinking he would run out of gas .

Have to admit though Woods did look tailor made for Cloud and theres always one question how good is Clouds chin ? ..... personally this guy could be anything and i for one hope hes something special .... Bad Chad take note ....

 

It definitely doesn't mean Cloud's power is overrated either. Woods is known for being very sturdy.

Whilst Dawson is doing whatever he is doing Pascal vs Cloud is the obvious fight. Two guys, one snappier and more of a boxer, one more heavy handed but skilled in his own right; both have titles.

Has to be done.

Also, Cloud clearly isn't 'the new Jeff Lacy'.

 

Its funny to see all the Dawson fans quick to critisize Cloud after a great performance, just goes to show that they do fear him. How could anyone not like this guy other than for this reason.

I wasnt a Cloud fan before tonight's fight and thought the hype around him was abit exaggerating but Im a big fan now, he has proven that he's on the elite level tonight. He has the stamina, power and workrate to compete with all the other elite fighters in the division. Yeah he has some flaws, but who doesnt in this sport, hes still got some room to develop and polish his skills. I can understand though the other top fighters wouldnt want to fight him since he is high risk and low reward, I would like it for him to campaign for Erdei's belt and dispose of his fraud ass.

 

Cloud's defense is poor, he charges into an opponent and lands his shot. Any boxer with a decent jab can off-set him, he also fights in a straight line. I can imagine Dawson giving Cloud plenty of angles and off-setting his game.

i may be in a minority but cloud left a lot to be desired,i was not impressed !!

there was quite a lot of hype surrounding cloud,i thought this guy was a KO artist and was going to demolish the old warhorse ? "future of the lightheavyweight division" :think

strong,raw and one dimensional the guy ate jab after jab off of woods,in fact he looked quite lost in there at times and was stung on a couple of occasions..

woods is a fighter known for not travelling well combine that with the fact hes 'shot' yet was able to trouble the young gun ummhhhh me thinks jeff lacy mark 2 is a coming,pascal would beat him.

 

Thats exactly how i seen it.All credit to Cloud for winning the fight,but as stated Woods is a notoriously bad traveller.Add to this the fact that Woods is getting on a bit and looked completely uninterested against Tarver and it does take the shine off Clouds win a little.
4-5 years ago Woods have beat Cloud comfortably.
Most laughable,were all the so called experts on here who thought Cloud would simply walk through Woods and KO him in the first half of the fight.Told me just what i already knew about those fools,THEY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT BOXING.
Funny how these people are the same ones predicting an easy nights work for Dirrell when he fights Froch.
