    This.

When JMM moved up to lightweight, his first opponent there was Casamayor. Casamayor may have been ageing but Marquez was no spring chicken either. Plus Casamayor was the more natural Lightweight and had never been stopped before, even in two bouts with the hard-hitting Corales. All things considered and I’d say that this was an excellent victory for JMM, at this point of his career.

Juan Diaz might not be considered an 'elite' fighter but, again, he had never been stopped before and was the natural Lightweight He also had the added advantage of youth. You have to give JMM credit for the manner in which he toppled the younger man. It was pure class and a victory in which I think underlined JMM’s longevity in the top tier of Boxing.[FONT=&quot]

Like Khan says Bradley ducked him?:huh
There's not a modicum of proof that Khan made an acceptable offer to Marquez since he's been comfortable at 140.
It's the one aspect of PR that Khan isn't a total disaster at.
    Some people actually believe him.

While I sont think he will be forgotten I think he is a bit exaggerated. People forget his losses(which in many cases are just as important to a legacy as wins). There is no shame in losing to pacman or Mayweather. But the Norwood, John, and Duran losses hurt him. I do give him credit for that last pacman fight. Unlike Bradley he beat him fair and square in my eyes.

How a first round DQ in his professional debut hurts him, is a little beyond me. :huh

Both the Norwood and John decisions were questionable, in my opinion, even if you take the dubious points deductions into consideration (vs. John). Norwood was just plain awkward and did next to nothing to deserve the win over Marquez. In both cases and at best, I don’t think it can be said that either Norwood or John beat JMM emphatically.

How much these 'L's actually hurt Marquez, in view of some pretty great displays from him since, is probably not all that significant.

Now you're just talking sense. You don't belong on ESB. :rofl Thought Pac might have squeaked the last fight though.

    Talk about revisionist history.

He lost that fight to Norwood. Nobody was complaining then. Now many years later he won :patsch. I saw the fight JMM lost.

The fight with John was close but it was a mega feint fest. It was a close fight either way. I saw this fight also and it was not a robbery at all. It was a close fight with little action that could have gone either way.

Casamyor was spent when JMM fougth him.

    Diaz

    Katsidis

    Juarez

    Yeah that is murders row.

Barrera was past his best days.

Fighting and coming the closest to beat Pacquiao 3 times when Barrera, Cotto, Hatton, Margarito, Clottey, etc. all got destroyed by Pac is worth more props than many other boxers have on their resumes.

Marquez' legacy would be about the fights he lost rather than his wins.

So officially Bradley beat Pacquiao now he's in the hall of fame too? Nobody reads about fights. They watch them and see for themselves. Just like majority might see Pacman robbed vs Bradley majority also thinks Marquez robbed by Pacquiao. Didnt just fight him once or even twice, but 3 times! Thats 36 rounds of classic, hellish rounds that alone should have *******s respecting Marquez. At 38, moving up in weight, clearly beating Pacman at his best, but losing controversially to him that alone is hall of fame worthy. People will never forget Marquez as long,as they never forget Pacman either. Took Pacmans best. Marquez always won the event too.
