wtf are you taking about? Wheres the conspiracy in me thinking Mayorga should have gotten a count. I don't see the link at all.
I'm sorry - that shouldn't have been directed at you. I was referring to the posts about the fight being fixed. Mayorga was given one count - rose on unsteady legs and went down like he had been shot from the cheap seats by the very next punch Mosley threw. The referee decided Mayorga was finished and waved the fight off. It happens all the time - and it saved all my "under 12 rounds" bets.
I dont think he would have beat the count, but what is the point of not counting. its dumb. Count to ****ing 10, its not that hard. Part of the joy of boxing is seeing wether a guy will get up, or try to get up, or not even try, or whatever, just give the fans the joy to see the natural outcome.
Yeah he should have probably counted why not. But I not sure if the ref is keeping track of the time, same thing with the steele chavez count. He is just watching the fighters and Mayorga dropped like a sack of bricks from the first shot (a monster shot at that) thrown after he got back up. The ref probably wasnt keeping time and with the first knockdown might have missed the 10 second warning ding. Based on Mayorga's apperance I dont think there was anyway he could have gotten up in 10 seconds anyway though. It doesnt matter either way because with a 10-7 round for shane the fight was all his at that point.
Yeah, Mayorga was done. This was one of those subjective moments for the referre and he made the right call in this case. Had Mayorga sprang up and got ready for action that would be one thing but he was out well after the final bell. He did get his full count during the first kd. The second was more of a cold ko with not enough time in the fight for him to be able to get up.
